If, like me, you use Norton Antivirus or Norton Internet Security (and please, no pointless mocking of said choice...) I've discovered that you can upgrade to the 2007 product for free providing you have an active subscription for updates - not that they're exactly shouting this from the rooftops as the upgrades page attempts to extract £35 for this upgrade - albeit with a 12 month updates subscription. Still; since I have another 6 or 7 months left on my current subs I may as well take advantage of the new features and 'Vista readiness'
Anyhow, see the following links for details:

...or you can switch to AVG free edition, which is just as effective (not to say much, much more so) and way faster than Norton.
Oh and btw it's free.

The heads up was simply for users of the software know they could get a newerer betterer version free gratis and for nada
If (like me) they have a subscription with some time to go, they're unlikely to switch until the paid for updates expire.
Something pithy.
...or you can switch to Mac OSX which is a grown up and inherently secure operating system which doesn't actually require any Virus protection as so far its proved impervious to all attempts to deploy an actual viral payload, and as such is far more effective so much more faster than any PC equivalentBadlander wrote:...or you can switch to AVG free edition, which is just as effective (not to say much, much more so) and way faster than Norton.
