but the seeder has vanished.

Please tell me what you think of it. I do like Shriekback, but I'm not a huge fan either.
I'd end this moment to be with you

I'm obviously in a bad position to tell
I very much liked the Deinze gig but perhaps the Peel Sessions are more interesting when you're not completely into them as they're better quality...

Are you lot aware they have a new record out? It is fabulous--easily the best thing they've ever done, as it pulls from all of their strengths and none of their weaknesses. I recommend buying it and supporting a truly original band.
edit: It's called Cormorant, and if you buy it you will be very happy, though you may have difficulty sleeping.

A band that still put out records?sultan2075 wrote:Are you lot aware they have a new record out? It is fabulous--easily the best thing they've ever done, as it pulls from all of their strengths and none of their weaknesses. I recommend buying it and supporting a truly original band.

It's quite good indeed, but still doesn't live up to the old Shriekback-glory I find However they also released it in a limited cormorant egg usb stick thingy form, which was extremely cool IMO
Thanks for mentioning it once more

Surely you don't include Go Bang! in there, do you?Obviousman wrote:

It seems that most records--maybe with the exception of Big Night Music--were always a kind of mixed bag, but I do think it's a fantastic record nonetheless. Voiled Karletus is one of the coolest tunes I've ever heard.
As for the limited edition egg...that's pretty neat. Plus, as Nic pointed out, they still put out records. Funny how far that goes with people....

No no, it will come back into fashion. These things are all cyclical you know. Bell bottoms, then disco, then combat boots, then hardcore...it all comes back. Cycles. Records. Releasing them. It will be the Next Big Thing to release records. I am sure.weebleswobble wrote:Releasing Records will never catch on.....

Personaly I don't think they ever stopped releasing good records. Some aren't as great as others but never the less interesting.

Go Bang! was pretty heinous, Cormorant a return to some of their former glory.

I noticed their albums had always this very typical structure with a handful of slow songs and a handful of rockier ones. But I liked that, sadly as of Big Night Music it seemed they got rid of thatIt seems that most records--maybe with the exception of Big Night Music--were always a kind of mixed bag, but I do think it's a fantastic record nonetheless. I'll go for they "interesting" label, just watched Sacred City - the movie and quite liked that

And for the record, Cormorant is a balls-out Shriekfest if ever there was one. Even more chants-per-square-inch than Oil & Gold and Big Night Music combined. Plus, it doesn't skimp on the slow numbers, which were always the Shrieks' finest moments, IMO.
...and so BOX gets resurrected to defend Barry Andrews... what a strange world...
