I got the Alice/Floorshow single from e-bay. It has "For Spiggy-flash that ash/A porky prime cut/Kenny Giles walks on water" on it.
I didnt know that Alice also had something for good old Spiggy. And who is Kenny Giles?
I am sure you guys all have the Alice Single, too - but is it still kind of rare?
Hope you dont mind my stupid questions - i am an old fan but a new collector..
Alice Single MR 15A
I think the quickest way to get answers to these questions is to do a few searches on this forum. Especially about Kenny Giles, Spiggy and the whole charade. Oh, and MR15A is not rare, sorryBadass wrote:I got the Alice/Floorshow single from e-bay. It has "For Spiggy-flash that ash/A porky prime cut/Kenny Giles walks on water" on it.

I like these calm little moments before the storm. It reminds me of Beethoven. Can you hear it? It's like when you put your head to the grass and you can hear the growin' and you can hear the insects.

I've been browsing Heartland for days and nights but still some questions remain...kazamel wrote:I think the quickest way to get answers to these questions is to do a few searches on this forum. Aye, 7 inches of Alice (I didn't know she was that kinda girl) can be picked up very cheaply on eBay or in any halfway decent shop that still stocks 80s indie on vinyl.
It's still a great single, one of the all-time classics. But the interesting untold story with this one (and isn't there always an untold story with Sisters releases?) is in relation to it's place in the discography. A lot of new fans may be very misled by what appears on SGWBM, but the correct order is Damage/Body Electric/Alice 7/Anaconda 7/Alice 12/Reptile House/etc.

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
oooh, almost forgot. of course, there are different versions of MR15A. iirc, first pressings have the sleeve opening on top with a cut, whilst later versions spit out the vinyl sideways with no cut.Badass wrote: I am sure you guys all have the Alice Single, too - but is it still kind of rare?
and then you've got the white/gold sleeve, but haven't seen that one myself...

The Alice single may not be rare in terms of collecting but the music it contains has extremely rare quality that you will struggle to find these days. And considering it's age it still sounds as fresh as the day when I heard it first all those years ago.In my opion that makes it close to priceless.

And I think there's two of this with different cut outs?
Chucking another log on
Are you sure regular sleeves exist and not just the top opening sort?kazamel wrote:oooh, almost forgot. of course, there are different versions of MR15A. iirc, first pressings have the sleeve opening on top with a cut, whilst later versions spit out the vinyl sideways with no cut.Badass wrote: I am sure you guys all have the Alice Single, too - but is it still kind of rare?

I have 4 different Alice 7" but no such release.
All We Ever Wanted Was Everything
There are several different variations of the sleeve:ruffers wrote:Allow me - a scan of mine http://www.myheartland.co.uk/gallery/de ... age_id=960Badass wrote:

- With or without cut out.
- Cut out at the front or at the back.
And the record comes with or without ribs around the label.

Hey badass.
Why do you want to know?
You have just aquired it right?
Are you just looking to make a bit of money on it, or did you actuallly want to listen to it occaisionally?
Just enjoy it. (wherever the sleeve opens)

That's one thing that was good about Some Girls...
All the tracks (bar The Damage Done songs) sound the same as they do on vinyl. So there's no real need to play the vinyl unless you're having a nostalgia moment!
The Damage Done tracks have been filtered. They are much 'brighter' on the original vinyl.
