I don't have a wife so I can't notify one.... but the 8th sounds stonking.
Right, Norm, can you make that?
& Markfiend, you still not had a reply!??
& Sarah O, it will be nice to meet you.
& Weebles, think we've met once before but if not, see directly above.
&.... oh no, that's it.
Actually, what about Dan!?? I enjoy being a Sisters anorak with Dan.

and don't forget kids, you don't have to love in Leeds to come out, plenty of spare beds / floor / garage space available. At Tim's.

If it is then I'm washing my socks all day that day. Whatever day it is.DerekR wrote:Is this some kind of swingers do I've been invited to?Planet Dave wrote:...love in Leeds...
I live 10 miles from Leeds in backward inbred farmer country (think Deliverance meets League Of Gentleman). Offers of shelter are also available from me as well as The Mighty Planet's. I'd stay at his if I were you though. You'd probably wake up in a field next to a pig or a cow where I live. & don't even get me started on the farm animals... Boom boooooom!!!
(The Export is getting to my head... )

I'm joking. The 8th is perfect.
But, seriously, anyone fancy this too!??
Ooooh, this is my 500th post. Don't I feel special.

I'm out on the 4th (monday) to see The Stuffies, so another nite out is just not feasible ('cause I is old & infirm)

Friday the 8th is a tentative yes from me.

I certainly wouldn't put it past them to play either of those songs but just not for 4 hours. the goth count was quite high last month - the highlight of the night for me was a dancefloor full of goths at an 80s night singing their little hearts out to how soon is now*. classy.Planet Dave wrote:Think you best had come along Sarah, as there's no chance of getting me in your gaff for an 80s night, unless it's 4 hours of This Corrosion & Master Of Puppets

anyone got pub suggestions? I'd have suggested the wrens as it's non smoking room is excellent but I figure you lot live in a haze of cloves at all times. they have 2 other rooms - one of which is full of retired bouncers and one of which is small and often attracts comedy drunks. what's the angel or whitelocks like on a friday these days? hellish?

This 80s night, Sarah....no Rick Astley or Bananarama or Soul 2 Soul or any of that gubbins then? Sounds promising. Suicidal Tendencies, Anthrax, that sort of thing mebeez (amongst The Smiths, Stone Roses and New Order, of course)?sarah_orange wrote:I certainly wouldn't put it past them to play either of those songs but just not for 4 hours. the goth count was quite high last month - the highlight of the night for me was a dancefloor full of goths at an 80s night singing their little hearts out to how soon is now*. classy.Planet Dave wrote:Think you best had come along Sarah, as there's no chance of getting me in your gaff for an 80s night, unless it's 4 hours of This Corrosion & Master Of Puppets

I'm game for any boozer. Not been in The Wrens in years. Upstairs in The Angel is always fine, so long as you can grab a table. Or the ever lovely Drydock, or Fenton, or anywhere that sells booze really. Whitelocks is lovely but a bit cramped. I've sorted the date, I'll pass responsibilty of venue over to everyone else. Too much responsibilty is a bad thing.
....love in Leeds....goddamn it, that bloody slogan is working its 'magic' clearly.
Anyway, excellent, a night of fine company & liver abuse awaits.

I'm sure there'll be stuff like that too. I distinctly remember dancing to gold by spandau ballet with my taekwondo instructor last month. it's a terrible terrible mix of things - done with no respect for the sensibilities of giffers like us (well me) who remember which songs were supposed to go together. It's ace fun. especially when a little tipsy.
there's a t-shirt available from america which reads:
a city built on rock and roll would be structurally unsound.
I need this.

I'm in and I might be dragging the missus along.
I got a text back from Michael:
Is it a straight after work thing or do people want to eat before we meet?

As to venue, should I make an executive decision and say the Fenton (even though that's the opposite end of town from where I work )Bugger! I'd love to. Unfortunately that's the night of our school Christmas do. I always seem to be double booked for HL stuff these days. Any other night...

Fenton sounds good. I'll be returning to my abode for a wash and change. None of that phonebox bollocks, I can't put GH Boots on in that small a space.

Eat? As in food? Does not compute. Maybe a curry or lebanese or iffy kebab at 3am, that'll suffice quite nicely for me. Fenton sounds perfectly fine. We can do a poll of people who lived at 10 Churchill Gdns.

Ha. The 8th you say? I don't go out much but I think I can probably manage that.Purple Light wrote:Actually, what about Dan!?? I enjoy being a Sisters anorak with Dan.
Nothing wrong with the 80's either, I'm just having a Toyah extravaganza, having downloaded a load of albums a track at a time off of limewire (Bloody awkward it is too! Remember the good(?) old days of downloading albums off napster a track at a time! Some tracks are full of clicks and whoops and there's always one track that's a really low bitrate! ). I'm finding that I still enjoy listening to the stuff of hers that I listened to back then, but some of her later albums that I'm hearing for the first time are utter s**t! Hmmm, nostalgia!
