This is going to sound so pathetic but...
I hardly ever saw TISWAS because my mum didn't approve of us (me and my brother) watching TV on a Saturday morning. On a similarly freaky note, we were never allowed to watch Grange Hill.
Go figure.

It was custom of us Dundee art school students to get out of our fart chariots early of a Saturday morn and trudge round to my mates' flat that had a telly, B+W of course, and watch this programme betwixt many fags cups of coffee and Marmite toast.
I've gone all misty eyed now.

Well yes and no.Hugh Cornwall appeared on the show throwing sweeties at the kids and generally being an obnoxious perv. They were promoting "Five minutes" and showed the video to it but the next week Tiswas played the video to the B-side "Rok it to the moon" instead for some reason.Still good enough for me as I was a mad Stranglers fan in those days.Dark wrote:I seem to recall hearing that The Stranglers played one of their singles on it.. and the next week, they came back on and played the b-side.
Tiswas ruled BTW .Our school was divided between the hard and cool Tiswas fans and the puffy swat Swap shop fans.
Anybody remember the adult Tiswas "OTT"?

OTT was pish!, the balloon dance was the high point of a very disappointing spin off, it could have been great.emilystrange wrote:indeed. and i used to watch OTT, and saw the balloon dance....

Are we related? My Mum wouldn't let me watch Grange Hill or Tiswas either! Grange Hill was full of "undesirables" (some of the pupils didn't always wear their blazers and had their top buttons undone ) and Tiswas wasn't "the right sort of program for you, darling". I was a Swap Shop devotee.....markfiend wrote: I hardly ever saw TISWAS because my mum didn't approve of us (me and my brother) watching TV on a Saturday morning. That'd be me then! The swotty-looking gimp in the corner!!wild bill buttock wrote:Our school was divided between the hard and cool Tiswas fans and the puffy swat Swap shop fans.
