I said it about 2 or 3 years ago, but I still reckon Von would give Angels by Robbie Williams a good shot. He might even end up making it his own.
It would be very difficult to even imagine him contemplating covering a song by a goth band.

Oh my goodness I just thought of the best possible song. It isn't too dreadfully inappropriate, so it probably won't get done. But
"The Clampdown" - by The Clash.
I'd love to hear "Lost in the Supermarket" or "The Guns of Brixton" too. Sorry, London Calling is in the running for the best album of all time in my book.

Flowers on the Razor Wire.
YES! Von needs something commercial to get the backing. I think that is the single to go on the new album. The only problem is he won't get as much €$£€$£€$£ and would be lining the pocket of the Fat-Dancer, therefore he has another excuse not to release anythingmh wrote:I said it about 2 or 3 years ago, but I still reckon Von would give Angels by Robbie Williams a good shot. I'm not young enough to know everything
I just noticed yesterday that the bass in Sandra's 'Maria Magdalena' sound a lot like the Sisters in the 84-85 era. So why not:
He might have to find somebody to do the backing vocals though. You take my love
You want my soul
I would be crazy to share your life
Why can't you see what I am
Sharpen the senses and drawn the knife
Heurt me and you'll understand
I'll never be Maria Magdalena
You're a creature of the night
Maria Magdalena
You're a victim of the fight
You need love
Promesse me delight
You need love
Why must I lie
Find any prize
When will you wake up and realize
I can't surrender to you
Play for affection and
Win the prize
I know those party games too
I'll never be Maria Magdalena
You're a creature of the night
Maria Magdalena
You're a victim of the fight
You need love
Promesse me delight
You need love
I like these calm little moments before the storm. It reminds me of Beethoven. Can you hear it? It's like when you put your head to the grass and you can hear the growin' and you can hear the insects.

80s pop icon ? Decent tune ? Lyrics that could fit Von's style ?kazamel wrote:I just noticed yesterday that the bass in Sandra's 'Maria Magdalena' sound a lot like the Sisters in the 84-85 era.
Good idea.
I'd end this moment to be with you
Through morphic oceans I'd lay here with you

She was a two hit wonder, one of which was 'Maria Magdalena'. I kind of like that song, even though it's on the wrong side of the 80's . The Girls covering it, I imagine, would sound something like 'After Hours' mixed with 'Sugar Baby Love'. Well, that's the vibe I would go for anyway...

There's a much better finnish rock song called 'Maria Magdalena', by a rather obscure band Mana Mana from the early 90s. They were profound and groovy at the same time.
Actually they recorded songs in english too so good luck in finding them, i heartily recommend.
Ahh, this was a thread about Sisters covers, but please note that i wasn't the one who started talking about Maria Magdalena.

i think could pull off a half decent version of 'Ich Will' by Rammstein
or perhaps a moody ballad-y type wail to
'The fields of Athen Rye'
i still believe that goth has its roots in Irish folk music,
its just soooooo goddam depressing!!!

If there would be a god, he would make Andrew sing this song.
Put their heads on f*cking pikes in front of the venue for all I care.
