Friends Reunited?
Just had a wee look at the year I left School , Dozens of people I know.........tossers mostly but a couple of decent folk I remember, has anyone else been on it?
Being brave is coming home at 2am half drunk, smelling of perfume, climbing into bed, slapping the wife on the arse and saying,"right fatty, you're next!!"

I don't wanna live like I don't mind
Meeting them in the pub at Xmas/Easter is bad enough, but to give them access to your email address

Yep and we had a reunion after 20 years. We'd all moved on and probably wont meet again for another 20 years. Strange as we had such a laugh back in the day..................anyway that site is only good for getting that bit you didn't have enough guts to ask out in the first place. But believe me being turned down after 20 years aint a good feeling. Hate that site!
Went to a reunion instead, and was amazed that all the uglies were really nice looking now and all the school pin-ups were mingers - weird.... I guess every dog has it's day after all.scotty wrote:Just had a wee look at the year I left School , Dozens of people I know.........tossers mostly but a couple of decent folk I remember, has anyone else been on it?
Been a while, ahem
"Simon, you don't remember me do you?"
If you were somebody that I felt had any relevance to my past, and if I also felt that you would have had any relevance to my future, then yes I would have remembered you. But sadly (for you) no, I don't know who the f**k you are. Now kindly get the f*** out of my way so I can get served at the bar!
P***k!

One of the problem's for me of growing up in a rather small town, where everyone knew everyone else, and what they'd been uptoemilystrange wrote:mine have all been very nice, and only people i wanted to meet! all from high school, oddly. none from uni.

He was actually alright, and no that bad a bloke at school compared to some. But having left 16 yrs ago and not having seen him since, his insistence on 'catching up' just seemed to me to be a waste of my valuable beer drinking time.Zuma wrote:That about sums it up Si!Big Si wrote:"Simon, you don't remember me do you?"

In my case, someone from "the Class of 1993" did a modest webforum for the sole purpose of getting all those peeps back together.
They did one get-together, which I did NOT attend, thanks very much.
All that happens there is bragging about how much you now earn for a living, and pulling out the baby pictures and telling there is nothing more in life than raising kids and have a cube of stones to live in with a well-trimmed garden and a wee puppy dawg.
The most fun they have today is taking the wee kids to their families on Sundays, enjoying the luverly ride in the sweet autumn season, having the roof of their convertible Beamers opened...
The webforum of the class of 1993 had some thirty posts and is now dead. As are most of my ex-classmates' braincells apparently.
There are maybe five or six interesting people left of that whole year of prolly three hundred people, and I still see them on a more or less regular base.
A get-together of people who, as a sole common factor, only know each other because they were in the same school ten years or more ago, is rather embarrassing, to say the least. And bloody annoying and boring to say something more...
IZ.

the 10 year one i went to was fascinating. to see how people had changed, or not. and it was the first time i think since we left, that we'd been together, and since then, two of us had died, so there were lots of memories. there weren't that many of is in the 6th form.
I don't wanna live like I don't mind
6th form?
i didn't even get as far as the end of year 12 before i was asked to leave (i was a difficult student alegedly)
wouldn't p*ss on my ex school mates if they were on fire but thanks to my ever thoughtful better half i still get e-mails from friends reunited telling me of updates and the yearly gatherings that happen in London (and yeah...i went to school in edinburgh )
my profile has been edited tho...it now clearly states how i feel towards school re-unions

Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

I'm on there, but to be honest I've remained in touch with anyone that mattered anyway. However, I have been quite impressed by what some people have done who I previously thought were never up to much.
