m*****n UK news: Single, Album, Tour, Simon..
Message from m*****n UK frontman That Guitarist:
Friday 1st December........
Today has been a big day for me........We finally wrapped up recording on the new m*****n album and we start mixing tomorrow........young Greg Freeman, who was our engineer whilst we were at Nam, near Bath, in September recording the basic tracks, is flying over to Brazil from the UK as I type..........Not that any of you will give a damn but I haven't had a day off for the last 5/6 weeks and have been working from between 12-16 hours a day (only taking time out to listen to the Liverpool FC matches which, in most cases, has been a waste of time)............but it's been worth it.........We have 20 new songs ready to mix in 21 days.....Exactly which songs will make the album has yet to be finally decided...that decision will come once the mixes are done.......I'm hoping that the album will challenge those of you hoping for 'God's Own Medicine 2007' or 'Aura MkII' ....it's ceratinly been challenging for us........We've not always taken the easier option with some of the songs....!
We do have a title now for the album but I'll reveal that closer to the time of release, which, by the way, is scheduled for late March 2007, with a new single preceding it by a few weeks.......The artwork is also well under way and again will hopefully not be what you'd expect from us...........All will be revealed in the new year.........
We have also enjoyed the performances on a few songs by some very special guests and, again, I'll reveal more later......I will tell you though, and I think most of you already know this, that Simon Hinkler, the original guitarist with The m*****n from 1986 to 1990, has played on the album and contributed some quite brilliant guitar work........
And lastly, within the next week or so we hope to announce a few European tour dates provisionally scheduled for May and June of next year........so keep an eye out for more info on this website...........
Keep the faith......
Love,
Wayne

Lucky man Keith. Unfortunately I suffered them at Eurorock 2000, as stand-in headliners for you know who. They were truly terrible. Goethe Erban was better. In '88 at the Apollo they made The Cult seem like hardcore muthaf**kers. I rest my case. Well, it’s that time of year again so I thought I’d take this opportunity to
wish you a very happy christmas and, just as we’re hoping for ourselves, a
fantastic 2007........and I hope to see you someplace, sometime, this coming
year..... 2007 also sees the 21st anniversary of the inception of The m*****n
and the release of our first album, ‘God’s Own Medicine’, and what better way to
celebrate than by releasing what I consider to be our most exciting and
consistant album since........ So I guess now would be a good time to tell you a
little more about the new album........ It’s entitled ‘God Is A Bullet’ and will
feature 15 new songs. The scheduled release is early April (exact date tbc) with
a new single ‘Keep It In The Family’ scheduled for release in March (again,
exact date tbc). As I’ve mentioned before, we have enjoyed the contributions of
some very special guests........I’ve already told you about The Mission’s
original guitarist, Simon Hinkler, playing some fantastic
guitar but besides Simon we also have the spine tingling voice of Julianne
Regan (All About Eve) alongside my voice again on a couple of tracks for the
first time since the ‘Children’ album in 1988......It’s amazing how well our two
voices still sound together....... We also enjoyed some mighty fine guitar
playing on 3 tracks from original All About Eve guitarist, Tim Bricheno, who
also once played with the m*****n on a series of European festivals back in 1990
after Simon had left the band. Also, we have Caroline Dale playing cello and
Cathy Thompson playing violin on a few tracks. As well as having played with
Page & Plant, Dave Gilmour, Oasis, amongst others and a multiitude of film
soundtracks including the cello solo’s in ‘Hilary & Jackie’, Caroline also won
the String Final of Young Musician of the Year, and is a regular member of the
London Metropolitan Orchestra. As is violinist Cathy Thompson who has played
with the Michael Nyman band, Peter Gabriel, Page & Plant,
& Robbie Williams, to name a few........An illustrious cast, I’m sure you’ll
agree........ And all have contibuted wonderfully to the album.......... Anyway,
as a christmas treat for you we have montaged a 3 minute sampler of some of the
album to tease you with which you can listen to on this page.......Hope you
enjoy it, as I hope you enjoy your christmas, wherever you may be........
Keep the faith.....
Love, Wayne

I almost spewed my coffee over the monitor at that...and I haven't had coffee since last night. What's the new Sisters album going to be called, 'Silver Bites Hussey'?!robertzombie wrote:So I guess now would be a good time to tell you a

And if Bricheno's just an All About Eve guitarist, then Wayne's just that bloke from Dead or Alive and the Mish never happened [wish upon a Christmas star...].
Seriously, is this open season on Andrew?
Or maybe the biting cold is making me cynical and I'm reading things too deeply. Excuse me while I go and write Nine While Nine part 3
Considering that it´s Wayne who wrote that, I´d expect it to be interpretable as a combination of options 4,5 and 6 of this.robertzombie wrote: ...‘God Is A Bullet’ and will

There are a couple of promising snippets in the sampler, but it seems fairly generic rock. Can't fault the production or what's there of the music...and that's the problem. Same again
Not that one should judge an album by a sampler, of course.
