I got an email yesterday from the one responsible for this reissue and he explains:
it was a mastering error in the live version of "Something Fast" that appeared on the first batch of Vision Thing reissues to reach stores. It has since been corrected and re-pressed; the CD's without the error should be in stores by now. You should be able to take the defective disc back to wherever you bought it for an exchange.

just to make sure...is it possible that the skipping and unskipping versions have differen't reference numbers on the spines? just a thought...TheBoyNextDoor wrote:Nope, I forgot to mention that to him.Ozpat wrote:Anything about the writting error (Visioin)???TheBoyNextDoor wrote:I got an email yesterday from the one responsible for this reissue and he explains:
and if the name of that is rhino/merciful release then how does that all work legally...?
Yeh, how are we supposed to be able to tell the difference between the skipping and the non-skipping versions? I have a skipping one, and intend to keep it (as the future mortgage insurance piece for when the collectable value of it goes into 6 figures), so would like to be able to purchase a non-skippy to listen to, safe in the knowledge that what I'm getting is definitely a non-skippy.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

You know the best thing about the re-issues?
It's simply listening intently once more to something you've had for 15 years or so...
Mrs culprit was with me the day I got Vision Thing, the day it was released, we papered our first house with it blasting out.
The other day, while waiting for miss culprit to come out of her pantomime, I put it on and we sang the whole album from start to finish, and it rocked (the music as well as the car, with our banging of heads at the relevant bits)
I haven't compared the original to the remaster, but it sounds bloody good to me.
... and my little one wanted to know what the noise was as she got in the car.
I will have to educate her...

yes, is niceQuiff Boy wrote:"You know the best thing about the re-issues?"

And, more good news:
By now a new batch of Vision Thing reissues have reached stores.
This time without the spelling error on the spine.
So no more Visioin Thing...
I guess this is third press allready?!
1st has spelling error and skips during Something Fast;
2nd still has the Visioin Thing-thingy, but no more skipping;
3rd issue even carries the name of Vision Thing correctly. Finally
in dub we trust
