new year resolutions

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I'm going to stop drinking like a large fish...

..and drink like a slightly smaller fish instead.

Just a small amount of cutting back, nothing too much. I can do that!

Most years I don't bother with resolutions because they are always too adventurous and I always feel like a complete and abject failure when I light up my first fag on New Years Day after quitting less than 6 hours ago!

New Year is probably the worst time to quit smoking, due to the "never keep the resolutions anyway" effect.

Blimey, I haven't had a cigarette since bonfire night. (Nearly 2 months now!)

I've decided 2007 will be a year of not suffering fools gladly.

You've been warned.

I plan to check old threads (especially birthday ones) to see if they can be revived. ;D

As usual this time each year, I will try to go through my inbox to make sure that I answered all PMs. Maybe freeing up the space will speed things up around here.
