Stevie Vayne

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Apparently a bit of a local Leeds legend? Craig Adams recorded/gigged with him back in 1985 before getting the touring Sisterhood under way. Does anybody know anything else about Vayne (except for him supporting Johnny Thunders on numerous occasions).

Also, does anybody know anything about Johnny Burman, guitarist with the Batfish Boys and the Elvis Presley's from Hell?

And also lead singer in "the Vaynes" always thought the name rather apt given his taste for shooting. The Vaynes guitarist was a very friendly guy but cannot remember his name and Jessica was way cool long before she did the girls merchandise.

He was also in Stevie Vayne and the Slaves.

When they were originally called the Dead Vaynes, I saw them supporting someone (quite possibly The Screaming Blue Messiahs) at Leeds Uni in late 1985. They eventually shortened the name to the Vaynes, and then later recorded as Stevie Vayne & The Slaves.

I think that they supported The m*****n on the Scottish highlands fan club tour in 89.

They recorded a couple of great sessions for the legendary Radio Leeds indie/alternative show, 'Great Northern Rock'.
Give me one good reason
