i have a few inca babies 12"s and an album knocking about somewhere

dunno about the band as a whole, but as far as i recall one of them lived in salford for while in the early 90s :?:

yeah, "birthday party wannabees" is pretty accurate, but they did have some good tunes - the judge, doomed locustland, cop something-or-other - good stuff 8)

i did have the unfortunate pleasure of talking to Mary Mary form Gaye Bikers.

They supported The Cult on the Eletric tour, I thought they were execllent - btter than the cult by then who'd gone far to rocky. My mate disagreed, and Mary Mary tapped me on the shoulder and said that in fact my mate was right they were s**t!

12 years later he contributed vocals to an album I released by Hoodlum Priest, he was in Apollo 440 by then though.

Heart of darkness is ok I do have it on CD the rapper kind of kills it for me though. I released the eponymously titled second album. My label was called Iris Light, it's kind of in hiatus at the moment.

The Swervies were bloody excellent, that first LP is still an all-time classic. Seem to remember they toured the States with some hair metal crowd, blew them off stage every night, and got treated to a lousy sound as a result. Wouldn't really classify them as "grebo" (although one or two members certainly had the requisite hair), but they just ended up getting lumped into every scene that was current and I don't think that did them much good in the longer term.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I got dragged along to see Jesus Jones once. Never again. Dreadful.

Ned's Atomic Dustbin were great though. As were Crazyhead.

I saw PWEI supporting the Shamen once, when they were both jangly bands. Not good and IMO they got worse... :innocent:

The Lorries were indeed a most excellent group - the drummer stood up if I remember correctly? Or at least he did the time I saw them play The Venue in Edinburgh. A quality noise.

Not so pleased with Chris Reeds latest effort though.

re Grebo..."Claytown Troupe" anyone? Saw them twice, loved them and then they disappeared......

Saw The Lorries in the Venue 3/4 times, were you there when they Headlined with Christion Death?.

The Claytown Troupe were one of my favorites, did a few dates with them in 89/90, Two LP's, they toured a lot back then..........but so did everyone :| , weren't Grebo though, more Gothy Metal :urff:
