Planet X, Liverpool

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Was watching a programme on ITV the other night about Eric's in Liverpool, when who should pop up but the very lovely Doreen!

Ah, The Planet! The toilets, the massive hole in the dance floor, the night That Guitarist gave all the drink away for free because Kenny let him run the bar after a m*****n gig.

Anyone else on here remember/frequent the place?

I remember working a Salvation gig there - we got stuck on the motorway coming up from the night before in London(I think) & we didn`t get there till after the advertised door opening time . The support band Playtime (very good ) had already soundchecked but we had to move all their stuff over & the gig part of the venue was an hour and a half late opening .
It was an excellent gig in the end , everyone was pissed & the band did some of their impromptu covers ,if I remember rightly it was their Christmas party gig - I think I still have some flyers for it somewhere . It was a twit having to pack all the stuff away whilst full of beer afterwards though. Did planet x maybe 3 times , I remember the gigs at Birkenhead stairways were always good too .

The one I was thinking about was Weds 23rd December 1987 . I remember at least one more date there on Thursday 3rd November 1988 when the gig was moved there due to the original venue the Bierkeller closing down .
