Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I used to play bass for them back around 1988, I think...

Wow - I've just spotted somebody I know who used to post on here that I've not spoken to for maybe the best part of a year - lucretia !
I've fired them a mail to see if I can drag them back and get back in touch etc. I haven't even been here a week and I'm already suffering from "The Effect" already.

Aha yes, and I remember you from the old Terrorizer forum about 8 years ago (if you're the same person that is!). You sent me one of your CDR compilations!

5 years etc.
It's just that this place really is odd - I've already spotted somebody I used to know well from the Ministry PA (Lucretia) and now this !
Seems everybody gravitates here in time - the Heartland effect indeed !
postings that are 32 to 33 years older than the forum, thus about as old as the first predecessors of the web itself, and older than the band they mostly refer to, likely even older than their very own authors!
You can quote holes into Heartland, yet it hasn´t been proven if you can quote tunnels through Heartland. Anyway. the chaos theory seems to work here. Sometimes I sit here and listen if there is an echo of a big digital bang audible from somewhere.. Late at night, when nobody else is online.

Lucretia don't post at all, anywhere CP.
She became a Granma, found her bliss then buggered off.IIRC she has a blog somewhere, I'll look for a linky.
she still owes me an Edgar Broughton Band (don't ask, well do actually) CD.

And it´s a digital world! It must have been a Big Bleep!
How could I miss that?

Maybe it's just a big digital bang with a very high bitrate so you couldn't tell the difference ?

There, that got you out of it.
In the first 1/300 000th of a second there were the bits condensing, as they proceeded to cool down they manifested in hexadecimal characters that shaped an mp3 file of a 1/100 of a second that, extended to a 1 second track, gives a "bleeep"? Is it that what you mean?
Or is it more "In the beginning, Quiff created the forum and the bin"-style?
