Happy Birthday Heartland

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

5 years of goodness, joy and insanity in this happy little corner of the big bad world wide websticle.

What can I say?

The way this place has turned out is an absolute bloody credit to the Mods, the Founding Fathers, and to all the cool mad good nice people it attracts.

Here's to another 5, and party on HL! You've earned it.

I don't think I need to say how much this place means to me.

Some of those I have come to know through it have touched my life as deeply as is possible.

This is not a forum of faceless monikers, not an end in itself - for a lot of us it's just one means of communication for a group of genuine friends. I reckon, if t'internet broke down tomorrow, it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference to the strength of the bonds formed amongst many here. Because there's nothing "virtual" about them.

My Heartland indeed. Long may it reign! 8) :notworthy:

Quite right; I wouldn't have to worry about waking up to more rambling threads of nonsense, woe is me! :P

This is not a forum about the Sisters, not anymore.

It's a place that's all about people that like the Sisters.

Okay, so you are old when you start talking to yourself, but what state are you in when you quote yourself?
