I note that the demo songs are available for purchase, and have duly done so.
No CD-scrounger, I! The guy's done a damned fine job, and deserves support.

Erm... I already put my foot in my mouth about this last night, James. I should probably mention that I was under the influence of several Duvels. I should have known when the topic didn't read 'Support your local ARF'...

Mistake corrected.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Erm, yes, I did. But I wasn't aware that anyone still went there, hahahaha! These are older demos, far less in quality in terms of production. Probably good for posterity. I thought they had already put that page out of comission, as I haven't paid the yearly fee when it expired last year...

Ha!
You mean I have the ORIGINAL versions? (Including the mighty "Farewell")
Where did I leave that look of smug superiority?

Well... Only original in terms of poorly produced and badly sung. . I guess the upside is that you now have three more songs that are not on the MCD, being 'Seele', 'Memories' and 'Farewell'. Perhaps I should say something about those songs :
The 'Seele' demo you've got has different lyrics than the version that will appear on the debut album. The story behind the 'original' lyrics is a true story of a German soldier who comes back after fifty- odd years to find the woman he loved when the Wehrmacht was occupying this country. I decided to change the lyrics as they didn't fit into the theme of 'Marooned on Samsara', which are personal observations on life. The lyrical theme as found on this demo version justifies the samples of the 'Total War' speech by Goebbels to work as contrast with the love this soldier pressed into service feels for the local woman, even after all those years. Hence also the sample of 'Erika' sung by Wehrmacht soldiers at the end.
'Memories' is my 'Sisters/Joy Division/Bauhaus' tribute. The lyrics speak for themselves.
'Farewell' might be something James loves, because I'm told by my own band mates that it's quite Pink Floyd- esque. I wasn't really sure about putting it on the album, but my band mates convinced me otherwise.
There you go...
Meanwhile, I'm still embarrassed about the quality of these demos. I thought this page had gone the way of the dodo...

Memories is quite a cool track, but Farewell does totally overshadow them all. Superb stuff. That tinkling melody in it - is it a sample? It sure sounds damn familiar from somewhere.

With the 'tinkling melody' I'm assuming you're referring to the clean guitar part that rings throughout the song. *Tech Music Nerd Mode Engaged* This song actually came about when I was dicking around with a preset in the Guitar Rig VST plugin. It sounded so good, that I kept playing the chord structure you're hearing over and over. So I decided to record the eight bars dry, then copy and paste it to loop, glue those loops together and then process the track with Guitar Rig. Presto : one very clean and spacey guitar part. I did the same thing with the bass. I've never been a cut- and- paste musician, but this was an experiment gone right. I wanted to have a long song that just meandered on and on and burst into something more powerful midway through. I'm not really satisfied with how it was executed. Probably the most demo- ish song of the bunch, as the new version will be A LOT better and will feature the other guys minus Cris (the synths stay the same) playing the looped parts, and a more powerful last half section...*Tech Music Nerd Mode Off*
