Don't know why I put a capital on "You" there, but I think I'll leave it to give you a little ego-boost!

Yes, I'm seriously thinking about going to the London gig since it's nearest to me. Tickets are already available.

The Neubauten are a great live act! Seen 'm a few times and always top
in dub we trust
Tell me about it. Mind you in Somerset there are probably only 4 people who even know who Neubauten are, so the gig would be a tad spartan on the crowd front!!!splintered thing wrote:wretched wrote:Bastards! They don't make it easy for us idiots in the provinces do they!

I used to know a guy who fell asleep at a Neubauten concert.
Fact.
I've no idea how that's even possible, but there you go.

A mate of mine went to see Nine Inch Nails on The Fragile tour and crashed out for 80% of the gig!markfiend wrote:I used to know a guy who fell asleep at a Neubauten concert.

I saw them in Newcastle in 1992 (I think) and was deaf for 3 days afterwards, so christ only knows how me managed a kip!

I saw 'em back in the 80's when they used to bang things together and drill holes in stages with jackhammers. Can't remember whether it was Neubauten or Test Dept. that I saw that started a diesel cement mixer on stage and pissed off to the bar for a pint for half hour leaving it going and very near carbon monoxided everyone to death.
You just don't get gigs like that anymore and sadly The cement mixer solo is a thing of the past.

I well recall SPK treating us to a selection of angle grinder virtuosity up at Nightmoves.

Now you come to mention it,it could very well have been SPK actually.
I dunno, the kids today have no idea, all there music has too many melodies and words you can understand. No germans shouting, banging bits of metal and no jackhammers, angle grinders or cement mixers.
I long for the day when I can say to my children,as my father used to say to me "That's not music, that's just noise".

You could've just supplied a bloody alarm clock mate
I well recall myself and Indrek being "treated" to that at Planet Dave's! At half past 7 in the f**king morning. My brain is still bleeding.James Blast wrote:I well recall SPK treating us to a selection of angle grinder virtuosity up at Nightmoves.

Are they the ones who do that groovy song with the piggy-type-thing applying lippy in the video?
If so, ace. Not that I'd be able to get to the gigs, but ace nonetheless.

Actually, can you chaps and chapesses possibly set my mind to rest on something ?
Going back some 10 years or more ago I recall watching MTV2 one night and a video coming on which absolutely stopped me in my tracks. I can remember it being very rough line drawn figures and colour splashes denoting Aboriginal people and fighting, all cut up and flashing. It was really hypnotic and the music was heavy and rhythmic.
The reason I posted the query here was that I'm sure it was SPK but I've never found sight of the video since. Considering I saw it maybe twice all of 10yrs ago it must have made an impact !
Anybody any wiser ?
