sadly missed: Ian Richardson

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

"Actor Ian Richardson, best known for his role as scheming chief whip Francis Urquhart in the BBC's House of Cards, has died suddenly at the age of 72.
The stage and TV veteran had not been ill and had been due to begin filming an episode of ITV's Midsomer Murders next week, according to his agent.

Thank God someone started this thread.

He has the distinction of being the only celeb I have ever written a fan letter to (via the BBC during "House Of Cards") - much to my surprise I received a hand written reply from the man himself. I was also fortunate to see him last year in "The Creeper" in London.

I miss him already :(

He played the voice of Death in Hogfather at Chrimbo. :|

I loved House of Cards.

He made a good Sherlock Holmes, and I thoroughly enjoyed him as Arthur Conan Doyle's mentor in 'Murder Rooms'.

And anyone remember his turn as the creepy Canon Black in 'Strange'?

This is a sad loss. He was also great as Godber Evans in Porterhouse Blue.
