Amphetamine Logic - bass line on re-release

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I have been listening to the re-release of FALAA A LOT lately.

Has the bass line on Amphetamine Logic been beefed up??? I have listened to both CD versions, (my vinyl is inaccessible - no record player!) and it does seem to have been made more prominent. Is this just a quality issue/remix?

The re-release seems really snake-like and really rather good, even better than original... maybe....;D

Any one else agree?
Thoughts???

You're not alone, I think the re-release of FALAA is fantastic as well. Im amazed at how "clean" it sounds compared to the previous Eldritch digitally remastered CD. I think the biggest noticable difference is in the vocals.

Well, it is a totally different mix, for starters... :innocent:
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Seeing as the rerelease contains the "original vinyl version" of the album I think it's more a case of the original Logic had the beefed up bass, but it was toned down during the remastering process of the CD versions.

not compression, it is about the pitch. they changed the tonal in studio remix, i think, i haven't hear that version yet

It's nothing to do with the pitch!

It just means the volume's been turned down a bit...
