New That Guitarist interview

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

A short(ish) interview with Wayne, carried out by an old school mate of his. Speaks a little of joining the Sisters.

Enjoy(!?)

And at the time CBS were courting The Sisters Of Mercy and they had just lost a guitarist to University so I was recommended to the 'Dritch and I got the call from Andrew to travel across the Pennines to Leeds to meet 'em
Interesting. I always assumed that Von had done his homework & headhunted WH. This account suggests that the corporate hand of CBS played a part in the recruitment of Huss?

An interesting (if rather short) run through - seeing it all so condensed like that makes me realise how many known names Wayne worked with (Budgie, Broudie, Murray, Burns et al) for very varying lengths of time.

I note his little dig "which featured a fair number of my tunes" and his actually funny note of self-mockery about wearing berets.

I would say though, no matter how good or bad he comes across in it, that I tried the first sampler thing for their new album and lasted only a few seconds of each clip - good grief........

The name is clever enough, but for that you have to go over to the Mish forum. It has nothing to do with last year's Sisters tour at all...

Does it have to do with an unrequired love for Johnette Napolitano?

You'd think so, but no. It wasn't until Simon H. pointed this out, that Wayne realised, apparently.
