Anyone remember why??
I had tickets at the time and was mightily pissed off.

I think we got our money back.
As I recall, the promoters announced the gig before they'd 100% secured the Sisters' appearance. Or something.

i recall there was another story about some promoter that wasn't going to pay Sisters the advance and only paid after Von unilaterally made it clear that no money = no show. This was a case of Sisters already being there and occuring just before going on stage. Some festival it was, probably.

I bought 2 tkts for NEC97 from Way Ahead in Leeds, who were happy to refund me when it was binned. Apparently I'd done a quadruple-take when I walked past the shop and my eye caught the gig advert in the window.
Shame about the cancellation, that was the one and only time I'd managed to con the missus into coming to a Sisters gig. By the time the Manc Apollo show was announced she'd seen sense. Probably as well, they were w@nk at the Apollo.

One of the early Glasperlenspiels has the 'full' story. From memory - promoter books gig, delays first payment to band, second payment never materialises, first cheque bounces anyway, band do one. There was annoyance at the time about how little the Reptile House seemed to care about those out of pocket (most fans who bought tickets I think). Was all that really 10 years ago? Cripes. Where's me zimmer?

Bastard
In all fairness, The Reptile House did it's best to discourage ealy ticket sales until all had been confirmed so it was all at my own risk.
Still a bastard
