'Sunshot' and 'Altered States'

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

two of the most under-rated bands of that era would have been 'Sunshot' and 'Altered States' ...
Seems like sound advice, only problem is that I havn't heard of either. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Cheers

Somebody's danging your dang-a-long-ling-long, methinks.

Never heard of them or heard them.

Next!

Altered States supported Rosetta at a show we did in Luton, Bedfordshire in the early 1990's.

Porl King like them, they were from down south way and they did release a couple of independent singles - and that's about as much as I know about them.

They weren't too bad - but we only ever did the one show with them, so they had no real lasting effect on me.

Not easy to track down. I shall keep my eyes and ears open for them.

Isn't hunting for music fun?

Altered States released the excellent Is Anyone Out There and more recently an album called Designer Gene Pool.
Hunt down Is Anyone Out There, it was re-released in the early 90's on Primary, try Resurrection records or Grave News. They may still have copies.

As for Sunshot, get the Playtime, Very Nice and Mental Health EP's. Most of us would have seen them support The Sisters at the NEC in 92, or playing with the likes of Creaming Jesus. The guitarist in Sunshot (Toby) was the brother of Tim from The Sisters.

An old college mate of my sister's used to go see them all the time back in 1992. The bassist (from Finland) and the singer (originally from Teesside), were both female, and extremely fit! :innocent: ;D

Anyone heard of a band called NASA from around the mid to late 80s, a mate stuck two tracks on a tape for me, one was called Sonsoria (not the Cabaret Voltaire tune) can't remember what the other one was called, but they were both very good. Various web searches have turned up nada, so any info would be appreciated.
