maybe I forgot to mention a few things. This post was about the original Temple of Love. But since you've all begun suggesting things, let me introduce myself;
It all started four months ago, when I came across a World of Warcraft movie
about a Druid called Mafk (sorry if you dont like WoW, I do), and I decided to watch it. The '92 version of Temple of Love came past during the movie, and at first I was not very interested, although it caught my attention. Knowing absolutely nothing about Goth(or post-punk experimental rock, yes I know the sisters dont like to be called goth), I thought it was some kind of wacky hardcore techno-rock music. Eldritch's voice and Ofra on the background making him sound like a pimp after a rough night out, and the lyrics made no sense at all.
But I liked the movie, and after a few times watching it, the TOL song began to intruige me more and more. I began to appreciate its fast, hard lines and decided to download it. After that, I was totally caught up into the song and couldnt wait to hear it again, and again, and again, after coming home from school. I began reciting the lyrics in myself on the bike to school and on the way back. I was wrapped up by the Temple of Love..
I wondered if it had a video, and went on yotube, there found the video. Didnt make much sense, but the opening looked nice. I found a few "related videos" links to Dominion, Lucretia and Corrosion. Well.. didnt take much more after that. I loved all of them (
Dominion vid is gone ) and began to appreciate the Sisters as a band more and more.
After that, I wanted to find out what the flashes during the video of TOL meant. I sought and found Doctor Jeep, and linked the other flashes to Lucretia and Dominion. Didnt find the other flashes like the drums, or that sand-coloured building. I spent quite some time with just these songs on my playlist.
But after some time, I wanted more songs of the Sisters. So I downloaded Alice, Marian, Black Planet, No Time to Cry, Burn it Down, Walk Away and More. I created a playlist with only these and lasted with them for some time, especially liking Alice, Black Planet and Marian.
Just a few weeks ago, boredom struck again and during a night staying up sleepy I tried to find all Sisters clips I could find, and download more. I found a huge selection of songs, and began wondering who these sisters were. I searched Wikipedia, found it too limited, and began searching for their history. Read about Eldritch the solotripper with the deep voice, the band forming and breaking up again around him over and over again. I learnt of First and Last and Always, Floodland, Some Girls Wander by mistake and A Slight Case of Overbombing.
I listened to the numbers, waiting for my taste to decide which I liked and which I didnt. Driven Like the Snow, Something Fast, Under the Gun and Heartland had my liking. I noticed the differences in style, from the first crazy attempts of music like Watch and Home of the Hitmen, and early successes with Alice, Andrenochrome, Valentine and Phantom to the Synth-era with the Floods, most of my favourites (Driven, Corrosion, Dominion and Lucretia), and their mysterious last album Vision Thing, with supposedly hidden meanings and dumb cliche rock on purpose, and their last releases like Under the Gun and Temple of Love '92.
Now I had a nice supply to listen to, and read a few lyrics. Sweeney's Valentine, 120x Heartland, Death by Drugs in Andrenochrome and Anaconda, and heart pains in Nine while Nine and Driven.
And then I began to wonder what the original TOL sounded like...which brought me to these forums
So there you go; my history of learning of the Sisters.
