Apart from the Sisters, of course, what was the concert that made the biggest impression on you? The best technically, the one that opened your eyes to a new kind of music, or just the most darned exciting?
.......
I have two - Portishead in Bristol in 1998 (I think), but for very Bristolian reasons. And Ice T and Body Count in Utrecht in 1994 - again you had to be there. I was younger then, but there was something very exciting about 15,000 people singing 'F*** the Police!!!'. People old enough to remember the Clash can probably identify with this. But what about you?
Best Concert Ever?
Ian Dury & the Blockheads ('78, Dusseldorf Phillipshalle), they ran out of songs to play after 3 encores and led all the Germans in a cockney knees up!
The Clash ('79, Leicester Uni) AWESOME! Mick Jones was my original guitar God.
Sisters ('83, Peterborough Tech) Who? What the hell is this? Made me curious ...I've never looked back since. Which probably explains quite alot ...quite alot indeed.
Nirvana ('91, Notts Rock City) Don't think I've ever been to a concert where the sound was technically perfect but so raw, stripped down and live. Plus everyone in the place was jumping around. No wall-flowers. No-one propping up the bar.
Assorted other Sisters, Spear of Destiny, Siouxsie etc but the above four stand out in my (hazy) memory

Loki was never worshiped as the other Gods,
Which is quite understandable.

What’s the difference between a buffalo and a bison?
I only found out it was on a couple of days before hand and as I lived across the road thought why not? Went down to the local record shop and bought Alice/Floorshow. Went to the gig and came away stunned which later gave way to conversion. Working from memory but I think it cost the pricely sum of 50p to get in!Quiff Boy wrote:i think debaser's fella gaz was at thatJohnny Boy wrote: Sisters ('83, Peterborough Tech) Who? i managed to loose nearly everything in my life within one week. grandad died, boyfriend dumped me, lost my job, when i got to london a "friend" asked to meet up with me, so i went to see him - and nearly got myself stabbed.
but i went, queued from 10am, met some nice people saw three godawfull support bands and then the plainsong chimes - and EVERYTHING got better.
the gig was amazing - the sound, the people, i can even remember the smell. and the fireworks at the end.
after that it didn't really matter what happened. i'd seen the cure and the rest of the world could f**k off.
and... yeah. it was good.

Probably Slayer at Donnington 92 and Public Enemy at Manchester Appolo in 91 stand out as highlights for me, Killing Joke in Wolverhampton at some point in the early nineties were rather spiffing too. Best Sisters, Fenton 96 for jamminess, and Glasgow a couple of years ago for brilliant mind-blowingness.

Marillion had a consert in Oslo, on the "Brave" tour, which was fantastic!!
Im not really a marillion fan, but that concert was beautiful!
It was many years ago, and made me fall in love with the "Brave" album!
It was one of those times when you apreciate music you normally dont listen to , and i love that!!
It was a long time ago though, but i still listen to it

Best - Morrissey, Blackburn last year. He's still got it!
Close runner up - Skunk Anansie, manc, 96. They rocked like motherf**kers, and every single member of the crowd was up for it. Skin kept crowdsurfing, she is mental is anything

anything ever by 'Lady Morphia' or 'Amphetamine Trash', but i was in both of them, so they will always hold a place in my heart, even if we did sound awfully 'guardian reader'ish at times

Yes, it seems to me, too, that this topic already was but... briefly again...
Both SISTERS gigs I've seen - M'era Luna 2002 and Berlin 2003.
Apart from the Sisters - I think the most impressive for me was still NEW MODEL ARMY in Tallinn, Rock Summer festival 1993 .
Why I said "still"? Because both DEPECHE MODE gigs I have seen - Tartu 1998 and Tallinn 2001 were great.
And SOFT CELL in M'era Luna last year was special
What else? P. I. L. in Tallinn, Rock Summer festival 1988 (?), Leather Nun in the same festival 1988 (?)...
