I just realised...

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I always thought of him as an old git, but now realised the Sisters had their best years in their twenties, and wasted their life bringing out nothing from their thirties on to Eldritch's current 48 (which is still young, but I saw a live vid of him recently and his hair was all grey?! he looked like he was 60 or something)

Indeed. He was younger than most of us are now and he was already a genius. An experienced, ripe, mature genius.
And he was just a young kid when he made Alice, Lights, Afterhours...
and already a genius too. It's scary, isn't it. I tell you, either he's an alien or a Capricorn. :von:

I must add something, do forgive me (take it with a pinch of salt if you prefer it like that):
Bear in mind that he's a male. About 99% of males that I know are forever stuck in their teens.
He's an alien, I tell you.

So they are, but they wouldn't have to be - it's a choise, semi-conscious or otherwise. And i wouldn't exactly call most women mature, either.

It's great. :D :D :D
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

From the point of view of the one who's stuck there, it surely is a Good Thing. :P Anyway, where were we? :)

Well.... I am not male and I am still listening to music that I listened to in my teens... I don't have a problem with it. Find what works and stick to it I say

I want to blast out Floodland when I am in an Old Peoples Home, whacking folk with my walking stick and telling them how in my day...

The thing is, I was refering to the way we see our lives here on earth, not to the kind of music we choose to listen to.
But I don't want to derail this lovely thread any further so I'll try to get back on topic. Eldritch was 324 years old when he was in fact 23, and now as he's in fact 48 (OMG, he is, the poor thing :urff: ) he seems cheerful and playful just as if he were 20. You know - the hip-hop clothes, the bragging about his intimate life... It's strange, isnt't it.

Midlife crisis anyone? :innocent:
Does anyone know if he's bought a bike?

Naah, that would be too ordinary.
I reckon he's just passed from Camel through Lion to Child. :von:
And if he fancies a bike, I'm sure it will be a proper bike.

Robert Smith published Pornography aged 24.
Bret Easton Ellis wrote American Psycho aged 26.

Ian Curtis hung himself when he was 23.

This kind of info always gives me shivers.

Actually that's 23. And he wrote and recorded the album at the tender age of 22.
17 seconds and Faith weren't bad either. :innocent:

Hey, it was me who wrote that he's genius. Tidal just mentioned his age. Tidal has yet to come to the conclusion that I came to long ago.
The only reason why I'm pointing this out is that I have no idea what the Man Utd comment's supposed to mean. My knowledge about Man Utd is limited, all I know is that its fans resemble mice.
