I'm guessing it'll be a lot bigger than that by the end...
If it gets finished on time. *cough*Wembley*cough*

The best one I read recently was workers discovering 'noxious chemicals' whilst building one of the rail link tunnels under stratford..
I mean, how the heck they didn't know crap like that was there.. I've raved all round that way and it is brownfield and then some.. (and that's without addming my own noxious chemicals to it too...)
Amazing how hosting a set of games is going to cost the same as a nuclear deterrant.. shame we can't swap..
I'd rather watch our "great athletes" do feck all than sit with a backyard full of nukes any day of the week...

Ms Jowell responded to criticism of taking more from lottery good causes by saying the Lottery would benefit from profit sharing based on rises in land values in the Olympic park area.
"London 2012 will bring huge financial gain to the whole country ... and it is only fair that the Lottery good causes should share in any such windfall," she told MPs.
I live in Glasgow and (without wishing to start any north/south divide argument) will no doubt face an increased tax bill for this, can anyone explain the bits in bold and how I'm going to gain financially?

No seriously, why anyone would actually want to live in Stratford is beyond me, its a sh!tehole en plus! And like I said before, the land they're building on is totally riddled.. Used to be loads of things like foundries and metallurgical works up there.
The soils probably more heavy metal than Black Sabbath..

On the contrary sir, I concur fully with your comments but expanded a little, who REALLY will benefit other than the large conglomerates, tv co's, BT and the top bosses in the building and security industry?James Blast wrote:Ms Jowell responded to criticism of taking more from lottery good causes by saying the Lottery would benefit from profit sharing based on rises in land values in the Olympic park area.

I don't know why they don't just can the games & have the pish up instead.
I guess, because they don't know how to organise it huh?

also, where is that sh!t sucking, fcukbag, bar steward red ken going to get the £300 MILLION if NOT from London council tax payers??
I fully understand and agree with Herr Blast's comments & opinions in as much what benefit will he get from it but more broadly, what benefit will ANYBODY get from it anywhere in the country? And why should Londoner's pay more council tax than anywhere else in the country just because the olympics are being staged here? Its not as if the cost of living in London is not already expensive enough? (I think its in the top 3 most expensive city in the world!)
