The act of mating with a species other than your own may not be as ill advised or peculiar as it seems.
Recent research indicates that hybridization is not only widespread in nature but it might also spawn many more new species than previously thought.

Grizzly-Polar Bear Hybrid Found—But What Does It Mean? (May 16, 2006)
A growing number of studies has been presented as evidence that two animal species can combine to produce a third, sexually viable species in a process known as hybrid speciation. Newly identified examples include both insects and fish.
Animals are generally thought to evolve the opposite way, when a single species gradually splits into two over many generations.
But some scientists now believe that the behavior that has been called animals' sexual blunders could be an important force in their evolution.
Hybrid-formed species are usually extremely difficult to detect because of their close physical resemblance to their parent species, he said.
But today scientists are able to collect the detailed molecular data needed to identify previously unrecognized hybrids.
Fast Evolving Groups
Plenty of opportunities exist for hybrid species to emerge, especially among diverse and fast-evolving groups of animals,

Whatcha mean, pet? It's *ok* for girls to like boys who look like girls! They're still boys (with all of the necessary...*cough*...equipment ), after all...
Ok, ok, shall I call them "pretty boys," instead? Maybe that'll sit better with you..?
Then again, I do tend to describe myself as a "gay boy trapped in a girl's body". Hmmm. And MMMMMMMMMM. Muahahaha!

Nowt wrong with it at all, Sinny, just personal taste. There is a line of girly-blokeness that I wouldn't wanna cross, but Bowie sits firmly on the right side of it, for me. As does Phil Oakey out the Human League when he had The Hair, Michael Monroe out of Hanoi Rocks, and of course Peter Murphy, in his make-up days...SINsister wrote:boudicca wrote:Good, 'cos that would open up a whole can of worms for me, if he did!

Hmmm. Well now, my girly-blokes don't really get much girlier than yours, it seems (though Nick Rhodes circa '81 is *definitely* in danger of crossing that line, hahaha! Yumyumyum. )...

is it *ok* to like men too? I mean I'm not overly interested in *little boys* or even *pretty boys*.SINsister wrote:boudicca wrote:Good, 'cos that would open up a whole can of worms for me, if he did!SINsister wrote:

That would be a lot of wine, mixed with heaps of depression and existential angst...the combination makes it really tough to even try to stay awake (it's too much trouble; it even makes it tough to want to get out of bed...).

Of course it is, Jess! This thread's about *girls* with guns, though, hahaha! (Hence the "girly-men" discussion ) I'm not dictating to anyone - I wouldn't think of it! Just blathering on about my own preferences, as usual.
The way I've seen *...* mainly used is as a form of emphasis (instead of putting a word in boldface or italics), or as something to let others know that someone's talking about him- or herself (like *points to self*)...
