Nowt wrong with it at all, Sinny, just personal taste. There is a line of girly-blokeness that I wouldn't wanna cross, but Bowie sits firmly on the right side of it, for me. As does Phil Oakey out the Human League when he had The Hair, Michael Monroe out of Hanoi Rocks, and of course Peter Murphy, in his make-up days...

Of course it is, Jess! This thread's about *girls* with guns, though, hahaha! (Hence the "girly-men" discussion

) I'm not dictating to anyone - I wouldn't think of it! Just blathering on about my own preferences, as usual.

The way I've seen *...* mainly used is as a form of emphasis (instead of putting a word in boldface or italics), or as something to let others know that someone's talking about him- or herself (like *points to self*)...
