THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.
I recommend that you keep Torch, Lights andc Comfortably Numb for the end.
Some of the songs either have f**ked-up titles or are not Sisters' songs, but it won't be difficult to hear the difference.
Slowdrive rings no bells at all, might be a bedroom DJ mix (Slowdive and Driver?) Shout and Sympathy are bogus, the best you can hope for is that they're mislabelled genuine tracks.
The rest are genuine Sisters covers, though.
(Aside from some confusion about who originally did the songs, of course).
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Are you quite mad?
Oh to only be hearing Emma, Lights, Kiss, FALAA for the first time.
'What a heavy load Einstein must have had. Morons everywhere.'
Despite popular opinion I'm saying DONT DO IT !!! ANY OF IT.
If you do you will spend the next gazillion years in this place chatting to other poor misguided fools about a new album that is never, ever going to see the light of day.
My advice is give up now........ You'll only want more and that way madness lies
Tidal wrote:as far as I know, the ones that LOOK like non sisters are covers or "...featuring the Sisters of Mercy" songs.
Knocking on heaven's Door(G&R cover)
Sympathy for the Devil (G&R cover)
Are you taking the p*ss Tidal?Surely to Christ you don't think Guns 'N' roses wrote those tunes do you?
I think Misters Zimmerman,Jagger and Richards would see things rather differently.
And I have heard The girls version of "Silver machine".It stinks.Might be alright if it didn't sound like it was recorded in the gents.
The photographs of God I bought have almost faded away
Anyone who blames Tidal should bear in mind that he was about 1 or 2 years old when Guns'n'roses made the cover, and didn't exist when the original versions were made. Young Tidal has more to learn than we had when we were his age, and he's got a longer way before he digs to MacArthur Park.
Tidal wrote:Hey, don't blame me, blame the one that put the "guns'n roses cover" label on the file. I don't know who made them originally...
Then I take it that 60% of those tags on the files is wrong then...I'll use google to find the true artists, ok?
Most of them are actually right, it's just those 2 that are out. KOHD is originally Dylan, and the Sisters played it many times in 84/85. There's even a rather good studio demo, but that was never officially released. They never did Sympathy, though (originally by the Rolling Stones).

Man, I'm 21 and even though I'm more into Beatles than Stones even I know that Sympathy for the Devil is one of their classics
My Advice: Go out and buy the 3 Reissues, then go to eBay and buy the vinyls, get Gift and the Temple of Love 92 single. Realize that some of your favorite tunes never made it on an album and buy Some Girls Wander By Mistake (my next step ). What you don't need to buy is the Greatest Hits Vol. 1... Cheap crap - I bought it in lack of anything else way back...
