Anyway, the journo asked me some questions (one could hardly call it an interview), the typical ones (how did you start out, how many of you are there, etc...). Still baffled over what I just heard, I forgot to ask where she got that news from, although she did mention she had it from a website. She asked if we were available to have a band pic taken ('Sure!') and told me she'd get back to me to arrange that.
So now I'm shaking in my shoes : Pukkelpop? Really? I'm all dazed. Surely this is a joke. I call our guitar player anyway and tell him the 'news', which he also finds hard to believe. So I tell him I'll keep him posted.
About half an hour later, the journo chick calls back requesting more info, so I oblige. Then she asks if we can do a photo shoot today. I tell her I'll have to check with the others and in one breath ask her where she got the info. Then it is revealed a regional news site picked up on the stunt we're trying to pull by getting people to vote for us to play at Pukkelpop. She had merely picked up on it, felt it was interesting from a regional perspective and thus called me (how is it journos have access to people's private mobile numbers anyway?) for an interview (probably a byline) and a photoshoot. Well, I don't mind that, but it was one hell of a scare!
The moral of this story is something I was planning on asking you people already : to vote for us, Ahrayeph, on the Pukkelpop site so we can break into their billing. It is a three day festival, after all, with several stages beside the main stage. There is an English version of the page available, so there's no need to translate anything. All you have to do is to vote for us in the No.1 spot and add four other bands. While you're doing this, MAKE SURE to vote for FGG in second place,or if you like them over us, put them in first and us second. And while you're doing that for us (we'd be eternally grateful!!
