Hey ho - can't be ar*ed to register for Dawnrazor.
Now - who can help me? Basically has anyone got an idea of what kind of setlist the Nef might do on their London date?
I'd really like to know their stuff but not too keen on going through/buying everything.
I currently have:
Dawnrazor
Revelations
Zoon
What songs do you thing they'll do?
Nefnef

You need The Nephilim and Elizium. Seriously.
:edit: And that reminds me, I haven't listened to Zoon for ages...

I really don't understand it, I love loads of thrash/death metal but I just can't get Zoon. But I'll persevere.Norman Hunter wrote:GRRR!!!Rafster wrote:The only one I've actually bought was Zoon as thats cos its was on discount....(wonder why)

(and Earth Inferno if you fancy a live album)
Nah, as far as live albums are concerned, you need the 'Memoriam' boot...

That's because it isn't that good.Rafster wrote:

Perseverence is good, but spend your time listening to Nephilim and Elyzium.
Much better IMHO.

Probably play the entire setlist of his new chirpy Cockney album "Mornin' Son", a few Zoon "faves" of his, the rehashed version of Moonchild, and finish off with Psychonaut. Carl and Eldritch both tend to play the songs they like, rather than the ones anyone else does. I very nearly swallowed my principles and booked a ticket, untill I discovered it's not FOTN, just McCoy. Not a single other member of the band will be there.Rafster wrote:Hey ho - can't be ar*ed to register for Dawnrazor.

Seriously, he needs the Wrights back. That opening riff to "She" sounded like a deaf guy trying to play the intro to "The Watchman" on a banjo.
Elysium you need, as so far you seem unaware of the song "Sumerland", in full length it is arguably the FOTN at their best, I will say without fear that I believe Elysium knocks Eldritch's best efforts onto their arses and points mockingly afterwards.
Zoon you need to give to a hated relative for a Christmas present.
The Nephilim album you can probably live without if you have Revelations, as the best tracks are Moonchilld and The Watchman.

For those of you who might be interested, Cian, the guitarist on Zoon has his own band called Saints Of Eden.
My friend Flow drums on some of the tracks. They're not really my cup of tea, but Cian seems like a nice guy (just met him a couple of times). The video on the page was shot in one of the Cardington airship hangers in Bedfordshire if you were wondering.
And as was mentioned in another post, Elizium can be downloaded here

I bought dawnrazor and 'the nephilim' as they were released and played them to death, but lost interest in the 'for her light' era, and never bought anything since, just stopped. If I were to buy one more, what should it be?
They did rock like bastards, and that's what I like.

if you 'lost interest' during the elizium period, then maybe that album isn't for you (although it really is an absolute corker) ~ p'rhaps you should go further back and pick up the 'burning the fields ep' - or the Jungle Records collection 'from gehenna to here' that includes those songs? copies are very often on ebay.
<------------- i got me ticket, obviously. i remember how pleasantly surprised i was by the 'zoon' band line-up, so i'm reserving judgement until i've seen the Astoria show. of course, NOTHING can replace the classic Nephs line-up, but hey the same can often be said of the Sissies and we all still go see them every time

I have "The Nephilim" as one of my all time favourate albums. It goes from high to low, its always intricate and wonderful. You get hard rock, you get poppy goth, you get soundscapes, all bound together with such...texture.
I can't recomend it enough.

Strangely I never got round to it. I've got all the other albums and most of the singles, but I never bought it when I had the chance. Now having finally listened to it, I prefer The Nephilim (the album, not the band).Ahráyeph wrote:DOWNLOAD 'Elizium'? Pah, the blasfemy! You should OWN it!
