Shall we get this idea off the ground? This is the plan; every poster puts a few records in his post, and others can reply in their post, saying what they think is the record. Like;
-Worst pronounced Sisters song
-Fastest Sisters song
-Loudest Sisters song
-Most boring Sisters song
-Most worthless lyrics
-Most vocals
-Most controversial lyrics
-Slowest Sisters song
etc.
And the next poster can say what he/she thinks is the recordholder in these areas, and add a few records. Personal opinion reigns here, so don't be afraid to express yourself!

Speaking from the "I want to get a womb just so I can have Rosetta Stone's children" point of view I can hardly condem enthusiasm!
@Tidal
I know you are just getting into the Sisters, so a lot of stuff is new to you. Maybe it would be better if you reviewed your new records as and when you get them, and we can comment and discuss them with you

I'll keep a look out on eBay for you for any RS wombs that show up for sale.
Wrong. Anything from the VT era live when the Doktor was slowed down to accomodate TJs 'skills'.Dark wrote:At a guess, Fix?Tidal wrote:-Slowest Sisters song

It's a fact about TJ? i mean, been confirmed in some interview or whatever that that's why they played songs like VT pretty slow in early 90s? Or is it just mean-spirited speculation?

As I said in my first comment, you'd be better of giving your opinion on one particular thing and open it up for discussion.

You don´t know the heart of Heartland yet. It´s immune system.Tidal wrote:what do I do wrong... no-one but Dark even attempted to follow the idea..
The mutation of ideas as source of it´s evolutionary power. Creative chaos. Fun factor.

I don't think the Sisters' lyrics are that simple...there's always more hidden meanings. But that's stone age news for most of y'all...Pat wrote:Worst Lyrics-Afterhours. One more night spent on your mirror......I bet that was bloody uncomfortable.

What do you mean with "worst pronounced Sisters Songs"? Pronounced by who? me? Von? Some guy down there in Burkina Faso?
Same goes for "loudest"? Where? my stereo? PUK? Astoria?
*shrug*
I do however have an opinion on "most vocals": UTG (sadly) and "most boring": 1959.
Put their heads on f*cking pikes in front of the venue for all I care.
ok, then let me set an example. If I'm free to express my opinion. (don't start about the reptile House again )
-Worst pronounced Sisters song: Andrenochrome (didnt even recognize one word when I first heard it)
-Fastest Sisters song: original TOL
-Loudest Sisters song: when you leave your speakers at one single setting, a few songs will sound a lot louder than others. Loudest Ive heard is Poison Door.
-Most boring Sisters song: Burn (really, don't!)
-Most worthless lyrics: ermm..YCBTO?
-Most vocals: This Corrosion. a few chorals, Eldritch, few seperate voices

Hello Tidal and everyone else here! This is a silly thread ... but I think I'll join in.
Worst pronunciation in a Sisters song: Um ... are you refering to the the fact the it's hard to sometimes understand 's lyrics in concert ... then there are those songs we Heartlanders cannot find 'official' lyrics for like 'Still' and 'Slept'. The lyrics for other unreleased live songs, such 'Crash and Burn', have been transcribed rather well on this site.
Fastest Sisters song: Many songs are roughly the same pace ... the faster songs include the recent live versions of 'Anaconda', 'Doctor Jeep/Detonation Boulevard', 'Vision Thing' and the regular version of 'Body Electric' (as opposed to the rare 112 bpm version). 'Crash and Burn' is also a fast paced song.
Loudest Sisters song: Any given song performed live in which decides that the ultimate test of the speakers is to wail as loudly as possible ... often gets pumped up when singing 'Ribbons', 'Body Electric', 'Alice', 'Temple of Love' and 'This Corrosion'. Usually, the crowd adds to the last one by singing along ... the 'Floodland' version is also pretty loud with all the multi-layered production thrown in. Other loud studio tracks would be 'Adrenochrome', 'Body Electric' (1984) and most of the 'Vision Thing' album.
Most boring Sisters song: IMO, there all pretty good ... not boring at all. The Sisters have many slower songs which I enjoy very much. It depends upon the mood I'm in ... be it a 'Reptile House' or a 'Crash and Burn' mood. Sometimes I even rock out to 'Will I Dream?'! Honestly ... after hearing over 120 live recordings I tend to listen to other things recently ... so I don't become bored!
Most worthless lyrics: 'Will I Dream?' has been a runner up for this catagory before, along with 'You Could Be The One' (which even has its own love/hate threads here at Heartland). Some people dislike 'Still' ... I'm not one of them. I agree that 's lyrics are not what they used to be ... although 'Slept' has to be one of his recent best.
Most cluttered vocally: 'This Corrosion' is a bizarro mish-mash of obscure and personal references, but still a d*** good dance club hit!
Most controversial lyrics: I dig the sexual innuendo of the two 'Flood' songs ("her hallway moves like the ocean moves") and 'Ribbons' (which has its thread discussing the lyrics in the chat section). Most of 's lyrics are about sex and drugs. See also 'worthless lyrics' above ... they cause some controversy here at Heartland.
Slowest Sisters song: 'Dominion' intrumental B-sides, 'Afterhours', 'Emma', much of the 'Reptile House' EP, 'Something Fast', '1959', 'Torch' and other 'Floodland' tracks ... etc.
That's my opinion ... this was fun! Sorry so long ... wow ... very long!!
