The Duvel And The Damage Done...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Is this Woven Hand? What are they like?

And, should I check them out?

16 Horsepower and Woven Hand are much the same, and you MUST get to know them!

Hmm, I heard 16 Horsepower last summer, in the car of a certain ginger nut :P . I liked it but couldn't work out who the singer was reminding me of- but after several plays I realised it was Kirk Brandon...

Boy George's ex-boyfriend's name has come up before when these combos were mentioned.
Coincidence?

I love Duvel.

Unfotunately, I came to a rather sad decision a couple of years back not to consume it anymore after about 6pm on any given evening.

The reason being that in the Lan Kwai Fong bar area in Hong Kong, there's a bar called the Hong Kong Brew House that serves up a delectable range of imported beers, including magnums of Duvel (they even have Jeroboams of Chimay Blue - 9%). This bar also happens to stay open 'til about 5 or 6am, and is right next to my two regular bars, meaning that on Friday, having started drinking about 6pm, we'd end up in the Hong Kong Brew House ordering Magnums and Jeroboams from about 4 am to closing. Needless to say, it's not a habit that works wonders for one's memory; every Saturday morning, I'd have some degree of confusion about the events of the preceding night. I finally decided it was a bad habit when I woke up one morning with a huge black hole where the later hours of the night before should have been, next to a girl from Mainland China who was asking me for HK$1,000 (roughly 70 quid) "for the taxi ride home." :innocent:

... and I've been clean of Duvel for about two years now. Well, almost.

that's nothing to do with this nobel brew and more to do with a 12hr. drinking binge on your part

It's more that the nobel brew and I are not compatible (in a way that can't be said of other intoxicating beverages) at 4 am. But, yes, fair point. :)

While I can confirm that the nobel brew is hot enough to burn holes into spacetime. :innocent:
