- Last night I went to see this band (the 69 eyes) From what I heard on there records they evolved from a guitar band into something more gothic rock like. (vision thing to the extreme)
Anyway, this is about the band, on stage came this real nice dressed guys, our very own RAF would agree they looked as TRUE as any self respecting rock band has to look these days.
Then the sound came up and it all felled a bit wrong, not that it didn’t sound good but the sound didn’t seem to be coming from the instruments. of course the singer was full of himself, I mean wouldn’t you when you are the lead of a Hardrockband and the venue before you is filled with good-looking 16 year old girls (okay and some old goffs)
At some point they brought this number I especially like (the chair) I was happy to hear it live and maybe see into the singers soul when they played it.
I could give that song a lot of different meaning but non of those so lively demonstrated by the singer.
It started to go wrong when…

This is a weird one as far as I'm concerned.
I am a really visual person, I have a mild degree of synaethesia so sound and vision are so strongly linked for me. I love a band to have a good strong visual image - artwork, videos and so on, and if they look good then that's just the jackpot! For me to really love a musician there has to be a lot more than just the music. It has to be everything they're about, all the different artistic fields have to come together. Wagner would've like that
Having said that, there are lots of artists I like just on the strength of their sounds alone... I can make my own visual associations to add richness to the experience of listening. Good music is good music and a pretty face delivering something pretty crap does not impress me, on a musical front at least.

uninvited guest look AND sound fab
Nationalise the f**king lot.
Pop music of any kind is quite shallow, (inc The Sisters), image is therefore very important. The look, the feel etc, etc. The only one who IMO does n't need this anymore and can work solely on the strength of their output is Nick Cave.

Actually it was one of those things that annoyed me that they didn’t play songs from albums besides Blessed be, Devils and the new Angels.wild bill buttock wrote:I know all about 69 eyes and they are Ok as long as they stick to stuff of "Blessed be".Otherwise they are bollocks.
