Gent, Belgium 1991 May 16 playlist?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I received two K7 tapes from Stefan Moermans here on HL, and I'm transferring them to my Big Machine to be put on a shiny disc.

Now, just not to feck things up, can someone give me the correct tracklist, since Tape 1 side A seems to start with Gimme Shelter, which seems odd as first song...

I will send the finished product back to Stefan, so he can weed the thing...

Cheers ears,

IZ.

I'd love to hear a copy of this if it gets weeded - not just my first ever Sissies gig but still the best gig I've ever seen them play

Sounds not bad as I can hear it.

Now, I'm not into this weeding thing, but I read that re-mastered copies are only for own consumption, so to say.

So it's better I keep this as pure as possible, or can you weeders live with a slightly cleaned-up version? I was just thinking about a low pass filter to take out the slight hum of the tape recording...

Also, I hear there's a wee gap in the middle of Gimme Shelter. Should I leave the gap (approx 1 sec) or 'glue' it together?

Maybe this should be in the Weeding Section after all ;)

Personally, I'd be happy with an untampered copy - mainly because the first thing I plan on doing is going to town trying to remaster it to as close to perfection as possible ;)

I'd leave the gap as is, there are 2 video recordings currently available (1 of which I've still not got around to weeding out) and a 3rd is out there according to Robin but I've never been able to find it - it should be possible to restore the missing bit with a bit of tinkering by using one or other of the video sources..

Is VT complete?

hi izz

leave it up to you what you do with it. How's the quality of the boot. Don't have a taperecorder anymore so didn't have a chance to listen at it. I'll have a look at the tracklist as it was written on the insert. Should have send it along.

It's not bad, and VT is complete I think... along with all the blur after it ;)

What I hear tho is a lot of start-stop from the tape, so I have to tinker with that, willy-nilly.

Valentine stops at the end of the tape and starts all over again on the other end.

Apart from these things, I will leave it untampered for you guys.... Better to edit it to your own liking!

This was the gig with the running track around the hall, great gig, so good I went to Amsterdam the following night.

Excuse the crap photo ;)
Yep, was a perfect day - met the band, drank their beer and even got to hear some early snatches of Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.
The good old days!

I have also been to the 2 concerts.

When I am right the concert that they played in The Sportpaleis in Gent on 16 mei 1991 was the concert instead of the concert that would be done in Brielpoort in Deinze that should have been played on 15 November 1990.

I have put the tickets on my site:

http://www.thesistersofmercy.us/tsomfan ... ckets.html

Both concerts where great as far as I remember
Think the concert in the Jaap Edenhal Amsterdam was the largest venue that hey ever played in The Netherlands.
Cann't remember if it was sold out

..that leads me to the question: what's the capacity for Jaap Edenhal? Ghent Sportpaleis?
While we are talking about their biggest indoor concert elsewhere, I am curious. :)

Ghent Sportpaleis, in that time, would be 5000 max.

K7 is pronounced "cassette' in French, not "four-seven".
