I have this large poster (101x151 cm) advertising the Royal Albert Hall concert, and was wondering if these were actually used to promote the gig or if it's a fake. Not that it matters much, it's been on my wall for ages and I love it, but I've always wondered.

They were indeed but yours might still be a fake. I obviously hope it's not.Psy wrote:and was wondering if these were actually used to promote the gig or if it's a fake.
Perhaps you could post a bigger picture in the gallery section ? 'd be very nice of you.

I had one similar to that too. It was a bit bigger though, over 2m high and had a white border around the edge. Picked it up at a Sisters convention at Leeds Astoria way back circa '89 if memory serves me right. Damn fine poster too. Had quite a few large Mish posters up at the time also but they all looked a bit twee in the same room as this monster

Thanks for clearing that up. Nice to know it's at least similar to the ones actually used. Fake or not, it certainly is striking. I've had it hanging at my workplace and I was surprised at the amount of comments. Powerful imagery going on
Will do. Just need to get my camera out.Badlander wrote:Perhaps you could post a bigger picture in the gallery section ? 'd be very nice of you.

my albert hall poster is 5' x 3' 6" (that's feet and inches, mainlanders-buggered if i can convert that to metric off the top of my head).
i bought it in late '85 and they weren't at all the real deal, as they had . "altamont: a festival of rememberance" and "silence is platinum" etc slogans at the bottom. however they are f**king awesome. i've also got a floodland (album cover) one the same size and until my two year old ripped it to shreds (anyone else would pushing up daisies by now) i had a vision thing (iffy band photo) one as well.

i thought mr.blast and SINny were on about my post then -a hasty back-track found this, and i find myself once again wondering whether we secretly threw the war of independece (figuring any country that can't speak it's own national language were automatically one-down to about 42 welshmen, that professor stanly unwin guy and brummies...Ghost wrote:On the matter of posters, I grabbed one of ebay that made me laugh hard. ha! so why have one of the dodgiest pillow-case wearing stupid-nazi-wanker groups in the world have a name that sound like a Mongolian rap ensemble?SINsister wrote:...kkk....
