It has recently come to my attention that I may now no longer be the 'elder statesman' on the Board. This pleases me greatly...it was a mantle I found heavy to wear and a tad irksome.

What’s the difference between a buffalo and a bison?
Ah ...the memories, the experiences, that only come with age. I remember back to the 18th December 1978; The Clash at De Mountfort Hall, Leicester (I have the ticket stub to prove it). What were you doing? Apart from being born ...Jim wrote:Hah hah - you're a bunch of old bastards. Haa hah.
Loki was never worshiped as the other Gods,
Which is quite understandable.

Oh yes! It's great when the puppies say 'I've got this live tape' and 'I've got this live video' and you respond ...'I don't need the tape. I don't need the vid. I was there'.elguiri wrote:ahhhhh the nostalga weapon......biggest and best in us Old Gits armory.............good thing is it works every timeJim wrote:

Speaking of old feckers, how long do you all think the Sisters will be touring for?
do you think they'll end up the goth equivalent of the Stones, doing a farewell tour when Von is sixty?
Not that I'm saying Von is old yet... well, you know what I mean

umm being an old fecker has more to do with the general age of those aruond(or in this case in this thread),yes?so on that basis i doubt i would qualify for the "elderly bastard groovy",tshirt yet then.
but,in the current alt scene where i am at the mo,i'm an oldie/elder i suppose.
its something ive found quite odd.sort of like your age i guess,it sneaks up on you before you have chance to get used to it.
to me its been like finding myself in no mans land.of an age where i can look at the current "generation" and see myself several years ago and the things i got up to and how much ive grown and hopefully wouldnt find myself making the same mistakes as i did then.being and in some instances acting as the mother figure because of this wealth of experience.
but also finding in this area only a scattered few of the same or older age as myself(all of whom are men),but have yet to really experience any kind of real life responsibility.,or in other words 30year old boys.
my piers have it seems mostly grown up and left their alternative roots and integrated into the normal phil collins/drive time compilation cds lifestyle.
kind of sad really.

You know you're something special,
And you look like you're the best

It's all got to scarily serious now.... Much prefer gentle ribbing about skin that has no right to wobble, droop, become bigger (with regards to the space between hair folicles, chaps)
Experience /scmerience...let the buggers make their own mistakes...it's what living's all about. If every one listened to good advice (from people who have lived through various experiences) then NOTHING new would ever happen. No new angst-ridden souls to become writers and lyricists.
