Okay, bit of wishful thinking here. Let's say you had the New Songs (everything unreleased after Temple of Love '92) all laid out and ready to be engineered and blended and technical-wizardry'd into an album.
In what order would you put them to make aforesaid album? And, if there's a reason, why?
For my money:
Top Nite Out/Snubnose - it's just got to go first, that's more or less what it's for.
Summer - the two of them slide together so nicely!
We Are The Same, Susanne - because it just screams "second single" to me.
Romeo Down - again, it belongs here; it feels like a natural successor to the slightly out-of-place 1959 and Something Fast.
Crash and Burn - and now that we have your full attention, here is the Rawk. Have fun.
Will I Dream? - so, we've rode this strange torpedo all this way - what happens now?
Slept - it's got that feeling of a last confessional about it, a kind of "so long, it's been a fun ride, now it's time to stop pretending I'm a rock star, I've done what I set out to do..."
I haven't heard Still, or if I have I didn't recognise it, so I don't know where on Earth it'd fit. Am I missing any?

i love the optimism, but...
i prefer new titles.
Meanwhile, reading these old UTR's (amazing), i discover that Von wanted do an album full of covers, but got somehow discouraged when Cave shook his tail before he could.

Nothing like a bit of speculation, although I'm sure we've done this before...
Anyway, here's mine. And adding to the wishful element, I'm even going to pretend it's being released on vinyl!
Side 1
Come Together
A stonking Doktor overload reminiscent of Floorshow opens the new LP. Guitars come slicing in like lasers. Oh yes!
Susanne
With barely a pause for breath that familiar bassline fades in. Presented in an alternative arrangement featuring an overblown string arrangement.
Summer
And the hits just keep on coming. By now you're bouncing around the room with a daft grin on your face.
Slept
After the opening triple-whammy we take a detour down some strange spiralling melodies.
Romeo Down
Closing Side 1 with a slow burning down-beat number, lining us up nicely for flipping the disc over to...
Side 2
Crash & Burn
This album's This Corrosion. Massive stuff, first single material for sure.
Will I dream
Totally transformed from the lacklustre live performances, here the song pummels and glows.
War on Drugs
A slight change of pace midway through the second side, preparing us for the final whammy.
Still
It's almost time to go home, so appropriate enough to ask "you got what you wanted, are you happy now?"
Top Nite Out
The only logical way to finish up. With a reprise of the siren in a locked run-out groove.
_______________
Obvious singles are Summer, Susanne, C & B and Still.

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Of course, this forum is even like the Sisters live material / speculations of a new album.mh wrote:Nothing like a bit of speculation, although I'm sure we've done this before...

This might be ok for some "Greatest Hits 2" style of thing but I hope when (not if) the Chairman comes up with a new album, it will be a thematically cohesive work and not just the couple "new" live songs thrown on a CD as studio recordings.

New album, although nice, doesn't really worry me. Its seeing a band live that does it for me. 5 full albums (basically) worth of quality material filtered into a decent setlist delivered well would be enough for me.
Shame the only show I've seen is the Astoria one. But I know they'll be back, so I wait contentedly. This is the reason why I am so desperate for a RS reunion, I want to see them LIVE, I don't need knew albums if quality ones already exist.
