.rar?

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

OK, so I´m not the sharpest tool in the shed, especially not when it comes to The Computer Thingy...
So; what the hell do I use to play a .rar file?!

It's a compressed file format (archive), like ZIP.

Look around for a tool called winRAR to unpack it, tho IIRC even WinZIP supports the RAR format these days :?:

EDIT: if you are in doubt about any file extension at all, and how to open it, use the site http://www.filext.com, and it tells you what to use to open said file/extension.
