Why the hatred?

I loved the M!ssion, saw them loads of times. The point for me where it all turned to s**t was Finsbury Park June 1991 - they did a bunch of new songs which were a bit crap and it was downhill from there. I've not listened to them for years.

The same could be said for quite a large percentage of socalled goth bands.

Exactly my thoughts.

I was curious about later records and songs so I bought "Lighting THe Candles" Some pieces are okay. Most of the songs are total crap IMO.

Couldn't care less either myself. I don't particularly like their music & never took it seriously when I heard it.

Saw them live in Edinburgh around 2000/01 as they were playing just round the corner from me. It was a bit boring. Hussey made a comment about Von too IIRC which I can't remember but thought was a bit pointless at the time.

Music wise I really love the m*****n, I donâ€™t like all the albums but I like it he seems to be trying now stuff from time to time and that gives him more credit in my book.
However, with The m*****n you always have the feeling something is missing while TSoM are 100% pure rock and roll, no question about that.

i accept some M tracks, but they're not so rocking as most Sisters' are
can't listen to them much
but i definitely like Hussey's Sisters' songs much
they're perfect i think

I mainly liked First Chapter, while Carved I nSand has a few very nice songs on it.
I may be blessed with a non native english speaker bonus here, as I didnÂ´t hear the lyrics as automatically as you do in your native language which made me focus on the tunes/instrumental part/sound.
Some reeally good songs, but the bulk is mediocre to my taste.

in fairness, the bullet reference on their new album has nowt to do with the sisters' tour... i asked him on their mwis forum and he told me about the book that their album title came from.

I haven't heard a single criticism of Hussey that you couldn't level at Eldritch, to be honest, so why he deserves all this is beyond me.
Dodgy outfits, irritating personality, addictions and temper tantrums could apply to either. And as for terrible output, I can only assume some of the people who criticise Hussey have never listened to Vision Thing's "More"(or lets face it, the whole bloody album), or "Summer" (other wise known as Alice Tarted Up).

I suspect it's all coming from the type using aggravating phrases like "go figure", spelling goth with an asterisk, and thinking themselves a damn sight cleverer than they really are. If Eldritch were to state a virulent hatred of cucumbers you'd see some Sisters fans disparaging them and doubtless tying them in to a Neo-Con conspiracy.

I have to agree with Purple Light.

The Mish sound so... dull...

And at DeWinter, there are indeed similarities, but some things stand out. As said as well, Wayne can't leave it behind to make the odd Sisters-related comment on concerts, which was to the point 20 years ago, but is really growing a beard in 2000 for example.

He did this in Edinburgh; well, he did it in M'era Luna as well, when playing 'Waistband'. He just changed that one chord back and started laughing at his own private little joke saying 'hey, this sounds familiar, not?'

Har har.

Also, the Sisters have a lot of good songs and they have some bad songs.

The Mish just have one song copied over several albums, IMO. All plain dull and rather boring. Some are nice songs, tho. I really like '(all over this) Waistband' and 'Butterfly on a Wheel' is a beautiful tune, but the rest is just mainstream singalong Goth-poprock.

Although I have to say that Wayne on guitars and Eldo singing makes for a VERY cool chemistry, which I still prefer above most other Sissies outfits!

You really have a weird idea of fandom.

Now is it really that hard to understand that most Sisters fans obviously don't care about the Mish ?

I guess some people would rather be hated than ignored, but that's how it is.

The whole Sissies/Mish issue made sense fifteen to twenty years ago, but it doesn't anymore. Both bands separate ways, you gotta live with it.

Edit : the only thing that annoys me is when people say "It'd be super if Wayne came back to play guitar for the Girls". That's just not what I'm longing for.

Even if James is right about that KOHD solo.

Totally agreed. VT was a pile of poo and YCBTO its bastard fecal offspring. Whilst I'll agree that lyrically VT is up there with FALAA and FL, musically it's dirge. The last time the girls had the chance to come good was 97 but Eldritch being Eldritch, it wasn't to happen.

It's no wonder then that Sisters Chat consists of 'how many lemons does Andrew eat before a gig?', 'what's his favourite colour for manties?' and responses to the 'favourite tracklistings for the the new album' question, consist of some songs first premiered seven years ago.

Eldritch will never release a new album and has wasted all the opportunities previously presented to him. I'm beginning to find it all rather dull ... but ultimately, very, very sad.

I didn't think anyone was still expecting a new album composed of new material. It's not going to happen. Full stop.
The "new material", as previously stated, is years old, and I would only buy it for the sake of the one or two "new" songs I actually like (neither of which I expect to even be on any new album anyway). Or for completism's sake.
Face it, it won't happen. All we can look forward to in the way of releases are new bootlegs, and even they're just CD-Rs with scrawled names. If they're actually given any packaging and sold (via eBay), they're considered "trying to steal money from fans" because the recording is freely available from the Weeding section. FWIW, I've bought a bootleg for Â£12 because it was in a jewel case, came with coverart, would give an independent dealer some money and it looked NICE, when I could just as easily have weeded it.
