Body Electric 1982/1984
Colours 1986/1987
Temple of Love 1983/1993
Alice 1982/1993
Train/Long Train, if that counts
Hey, that's almost a tradition, compared to most bands
Which songs re-recorded by the Sisters work better, and which don't, in your opinion?
And what songs would you like the Sisters to record again?
My vote, for what it's worth:
I think the 1984 version of Body Electric kicks botty. I like Long Train better. I think the 1993 versions of Alice and Temple are great, but hold a big soft spot for the originals. I think the 1987 version of Colours is inferior.
And to hear new recorded version of: Adrenochrome, On the Wire, Floorshow.
Re-recorded songs
Logic.
Most of the live versions actually - which they really should stick on a DVD.
No really.

The only one i would like to be re recorded would be the new version of anaconda which i think rocks ....( as opposed to the new version of FALAA which should be locked in a strongbox , buried and covered in concrete....never to see the light of day again.......ever )
and as to re record adrenochrome............Noooooooooooooooo

Funny, I've never really got Anaconda. I mean, it works okay as a drugs song, but it doesn't really kick botty like Alice, Floorshow, Temple, Adrenochrome, IMHO. Even the recent live version, with it's Glitteresque 'She wiii-iiii-iiilllll!' felt like it was flogging a decomposing horse. In fact, I think Gary Marx was right about that (in QB's interview). But you could be right that there's something in it that could be brought out better in a new recording.
But come on, Adrenochrome rocks! So it's naive and arrogant and even punkish, but that's why it's so great! I think it should be declared the Sisters anthem, and bylaws passed requiring it to be played to end every Sisters concert. European Human Rights laws notwithstanding...

I have to disagree - I think Anaconda is fantastic and the version they played at the Forum gig (Friday) sent shivers down my spine.

Temple 1992, not 1993, for the record. I like it, too overplayed at one stage in my life but I still prefer it.
Alice 92 is crap compared to the 1982 version.
BE 84 is better, Long Train rocks like a bastard but Colours 86 wins every time.
Sorry for the Anorak comments, but I'm having weather that requires anoraks

Exactly, Got it in one..............................Adrenochrome for me is the best sisters song but Surely only songs that dont fulfill their potential first time round should be re recorded. How could you possibly improve adrenochrome...........look what happened to body electric............sure it was different , but not for the better,......wereas temple of love was improved with the addition of Ofra Haza. But i Guess these are all subjective to peoples own taste..............give it time and somebody will come on saying adrenochrome is s**t

Adrenochrome was actually re-recorded for a radio session - they made it slower and more wired sounding. BE84 is s**t to me, but I did like Alice93 better.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

be82 is mean, moody, chunky and "phat". be84 is cheap and tinny.
am thoroughly sick of hearing ophra haza's wailing, but i like the production on tol 92 more and more the more i hear it. its slower and groovier than the original, but i love the spikey guitars in the original more than teh chugga rawk riffs in tol 92.
am getting to like alice 93 more and more too, as i'm a bit sick of the original. i used to hat ethe production on the newer version but i'm kinda getting to appreciate it more and more, even if the it does sound like the doktor was recorded in a shed
colours? prefer the gift version. yer man's vocals sound better suited than vons for that song.

I love adrenochrome. Mind you I love Anaconda as well - they should update them both. I kind of like the 93 Alice as well though. Guess I'm not really a purist.

I don't really care about the '93 Alice--I don't think it brings anything new or exciting to the song. LOVE the original Anaconda--yeah, the production sucks but I think the song is strong enough to overcome it, or at least make it not matter so much. That said, I was absolutely floored when I heard the new Anaconda--I would kill many innocents to have that as a b-side.
Of course, at this point, I'd kill to have anything as an a-side...

forgot to mention, the original versions of adrenochrome and anaconda are 2 of my fave sisters songs.
the latest live take on anaconda is pretty cool, but the "she wiiii-iiiil" as mentioned above does my head in a bit after a while.
however, the latest live take on amphetamine logic rocks a fat one. as they say. nice

Would love to hear new versions of:
Amphetamine Logic - but not the fast version, I prefer it slower with skeleton shaking bass.
Giving Ground - it sounded fantastic at the Forum on Friday, best ever.
Body Electric - love it live, shame they dropped it this time around. I'd take BE over Slept anyday!

To not know and to ask a question is a moment of embarrassment; to not know and not ask is a lifetime of shame.
they should re-record everything and relece it on a 42-disk LP box-set called "go nuts" with a pic of von's glasses on the cover.

I have to make a confession - I've never heard the re-recorded version of Amphetamine Logic <<<<<ducks under a ton of raw fish and rotten tomatoes>>>>>>
Should I do so? Is there some way I can get it without buying the relevant 12"?

There is no official re-recorded version of AL as far as I know. But since 96/97 they've performed it at about twice the speed of the original.MrChris wrote:I have to make a confession - I've never heard the re-recorded version of Amphetamine Logic <<<<<ducks under a ton of raw fish and rotten tomatoes>>>>>>

the remastered SKOS on FALAA 92 sounds really nice and clean when compared with the 85 version, and i would kill for an official Numb\Skos combo

I think Doctor Jeep and Ribbons (agree with Nearmeth) both failed to do justice to the vision that seemed to be behind them. Don't get me wrong, Ribbons is perhaps my all-time fave, and live is absolutely hammering. But imagine a looser, more strung-out version on record, that captured some of that live energy...Ditto Doctor Jeep. The idea is great, but on record, so-so, and also so-so at best when played live...Still, they sound great in my head.

Oh my god. The stats police are out in force again.
Make sure you check everything twice before you say it - run a "sisters facts" check on it. (Microsoft do include that in 2000 don't they?)
