Time to play...Name that Goff lyric

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I got that just from the presence of the word "dirigible".

In an alternative reality, it's the Spongemonkeys.

Ever since I clicked on that link Scotty put up I can't seem to get that out of me head > Spongemonkeys  :urff:

Do you have video of the incident in Planet Dave's garage? :innocent:  :notworthy:

Answer to your lyric > Flesh for LuLu - Subterranean :D

Now my turn.......not sure how easy or hard.

You're missing a line; actually, it's:

"I have crept in your ugly world
I have slept in every way"

It's "Something Inside Me Has Died" by Kommunity FK.

LOVE that tune, hahahaha! One of my fave basslines ever. ;D

Saw the video for the first time on some MTV Halloween special in the mid-1980s, hosted by Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. LOL! Still have the whole 6- or 8-hour special on a crumbling videotape, somewhere.

Oh, and the wings in the video used to be proudly displayed on a balcony supposedly belonging to Patrick Mata's ex-gf. The balcony overlooked Melrose Ave. in Hollywood; I used to see the wings every day on my way into work (spring 1992). How's that for silly goff trivia? :P

Unfortunately not. And even if I did, I suspect it would just be all smoke and wing-mirrors.

I find myself inside a church deserted by the priests
As shadows shift from grey to red I notice there's no floor
Transparent air suspends my weight as if I had no mass
Suddenly the moon comes out the clouded sky

Okay, I have no idea about the above lyric. Are we sure it's a lyric - it sounds very literary. It sounds like a good place to start a good ol' horror story about a werewolf or something.

I like this tho' (which I have pilfered from 9while9's signature) ...

"An artist is a creature driven by demons. He doesn't know why they choose him and he's usually too busy to wonder why." - William Faulkner

Really? (*wonders a lot about quote*). Are artists driven by demons? I'm not sure an artist would see their art as something coming from the outside at all.

Anyway good luck with the lyric.

It's certainly a lyric. Not a well-known "goth" band.. kinda more electro, but a very good band. One who also have a track called "Afterhours", which is more than a little nice.

Have not heard the song in a wile, I thought I was closer. :(
Your right and it is a great bass line.

That MTV special was the first time I'd ever heard them.
I to taped it on extended long play unfortunately.
So the quality was the lowest but I watched it many times.
I believe the special was aired in Oct 85 or 86.
There were a lot of great videos on that night, Bauhaus - Mask, Siouxsie - Cities in Dust, 8)

And that is a pretty interesting bit of trivia, about the wings in the Kommunity FK video. :D
I got a hold of the LP back in 89. I liked it but "Close one sad eye" was the best song.

Exactly! It was October '86; at that point, I'd never even heard of "goth". Hilarious! If my tape weren't in jeopardy of falling apart, I'd probably still watch the whole special regularly. Some of the comedy spots were pretty funny, and I'm sure I'll never be able to find most of those videos again - like the ones by The Hitmen, Landscape, and the like.

Some lovely person's put the Kommunity FK video up on YouTube, I've discovered! Damn, Patrick was cute back then!

Well, since nobody guessed mine, it was Go Film by Covenant.

Try this:

I was born one winter's morning
Now it seems so long ago
Sometimes I feel like
I've learned nothing
So much that I don't know
I've looked far and wide
No matter how I try
Can't seem to find the words to say

There will be SOMEONE who knows this.

After someone guesses post a link if you can.
I find it interesting to hear something I've missed.
Unless of course I hate it, then a pox on you.

I imagine many on this forum would know this. Everything Worth Giving by Ghost Dance.

Here is a nice easy one:

I'm idly staring at the sky
Did anybody hear me cry
A billion stars are a moving sight
To all you out there reading this tonight
It's just a trick of the light
I have to know what is real and what is illusion
Tell me how does it feel beyond this confusion?
Is there anyone there?
