I think he sings "Kiss my thong, gimme something that I miss," which might allude to Fat Pat not blowing him any more..wild bill buttock wrote:No he isn't.I really couldn't care less if Eldo really does sing "Kiss my tool" or "Kiss my toe" during "This corrosion" .And neither should you Tidal.

I was actually listening to NTTC whilst skim reading this thread. You don't need to listen carefully at all, it's definitely "coming".Tidal wrote:-"Just like always calling down on". Lyric database says it's "coming", but I listened carefully; it's not.
So I checked it again...
It's very delicate ( seeing your reactions I really think you all can't bring up listening that carefully), but really, it IS calling you need to hear it 10 times in quick repeat whilst concentrating on the part between "ca" and "ing"
and you will hear the typical tongue sound one makes when saying an "l", not the humming, "fat" sound one hears when saying an "m", by using one's lips.
(you're gonna so declare me insane for this, but I really don't care.)

He is nutz, this is a FACT! but I gave NTTC a listen and it does sound like 'calling'
"And when you start to think about death, you start to think about what's after it. And then you start hoping there is a God. For me, it's a frightening thought to go nowhere".

And again... Marian! (and FALAA)
Two of FALAA's finest here for you.
Marian
"In a sea of faces
In a sea of doubt
In this cruel place your voice above the maelstrom
In the wake of the ship of fools I’m falling further down
If you can see me Marian reach out and take me home
I hear you calling Marian
Across the water
Across the wave
I hear you calling Marian
Can you hear me calling you to save me, save me, save me from the grave
Marian
Marian
There’s a weight above me
And the pressure is all too strong
To breathe deep breathe long and hard to take the water down and go to sleep
To sink still further
Beneath the fatal wave
Marian I think I’m drowning
This sea is killing me
I hear you calling Marian
Across the water
Across the wave
I hear you calling Marian
Can you hear me calling you to save me, save me, save me from the grave
Was ich kann und was ich könnte
Weiss ich gar nicht mehr
Gib mir wieder etwas schönes
Zieh mich aus dem Meer
Ich höre dich rufen Marian
Kannst du mich schreien hören, ich bin hier allein
Ich höre dich rufen Marian
Ohne deine Hilfe
Verliere ich mich in diesem Ort
I hear you calling Marian
Across the water
Across the wave
I hear you calling Marian
Can you hear me calling you to save me, save me, save me from the grave
Marian
Marian
Marian
Marian
Marian
Marian
Marian
Marian
Marian
Marian
Marian
Marian"
Absolutely nothing to add. I think this is FALAA's masterpiece.
First and Last and Always
"See the body and the dream of the dead days
Following lost and blind
Living far from here
Tomorrow is a heart to find
And it seems like twenty-five years of promises and give me more
Scenes of the hand-me-down dresses
Heard before
First and last and always
‘till the end of the time
First and last and always
Mine
Maybe it’s not so easy
Maybe it’s a way too long
Say
Say you’ll be by me
When the evidence comes along
First and last and always
My calling
My time
First and last and always
Mine
My calling
My time
See the place and the dream of the dead days
Following lost and blind
Cross my heart with silver
Here’s the key behind
Seems like twenty-five years of ever hard and ever more, more, more
Seems I wore this face for you
Far too long before
First and last and always
My calling
My time
First and last and always
Mine
First and last and always
‘till the end of the end of time
First and last and always
Mine
First and last and always
‘till the end of the time
First and last and always

I do have something to say about this one.
-"See the body and the dream of the dead days" dunno what the lyrics
sites were thinking, but it's most certainly not
"See a body and a dream of the dead days"
-"Tomorrow is a heart to find" . Sites say "is hard to find", but I hear
Andrew saying an "a" between "is" and "heart/hard", and the "t" at the
end of hard/heart is too well pronounced as a "t" for it to be "hard",
and "a heart to find" makes more sense than "a hard to find" anyway.
-"Scenes of the hand-me-down dresses" sites say
"Scenes of hand-me-down in dresses", which doesnt make sense since
anyone can hear "the", and there is no "i" between the "n"'s after "down".
-"‘till the end of the time". it's "the time", not "time".
-"twenty-five years of ever hard and..." this is a strange one, after "ever"
one can hear a "a" but no consonants. But hard sounds most plausible.
While sites say "twenty-five years of ever after ever more".
-"‘till the end of the end of time". Not once but twice.
-"‘till the end of the time" again, "the time".
More will come

- The first "carrion child" is very hard to hear, I thought it was "How we pride" the first time.
- "Prey for me" could just as easily be "Pray for me", but because of the carrion context, "prey" seems better.
-"Stand these pictures on the shelf and wear your heart upon my sleeve"
lyrics sites say "my shelf",
-"Wear your dress that you could see through, see yourself inside"
lyrics sites say "a dress that" and "can see through". And the
"see yourself inside" is very hard to interprete, first time I heard
"see your softy side".
-"This way the doubts takes over, contradiction calling through"
one would say "the doubt takes over" would be better, but he simply
does say an "s" in between. Furthermore, Andrew does it again
he says his "calling/coming" again! It's exactly the same, again it's
virtually impossible to tell. Again I say it's "calling", but seeing that
Andrew used it twice, both times "coming" being a better word in the
context, I guess Andrew has a small speech deficit that makes his
"coming" sound like "calling". But still, I say it's "calling", for one can hear
a proper example of "coming" just a few lines back; "and the fiction
coming through".
- for convenience I also show the two parallels together;
(line1)
"Taking over
Nothing
But the debris
Cuts two ways
Taking over
Down around you head
Home to me
So much dreaming"
and
(line 2)
"Child
Prey for me

Nine While Nine
"And it’s passing strange
And I’m waiting for the train
Caught up on this line again
And it’s passing slowly
Killing time, but it’s better than living in what will come and I still got some of your letters with me
And I thought sometimes or I read too much
And I think you know
Let’s drink to the dead lying under the water
And the cost of the blood on the driven snow
And the lipstick on my cigarettes
Frost upon the windowpane
Nine while nine and I’m waiting
For the train
She said do you remember a time when angels
Do you remember a time when fear
In the days when I was stronger
In the days when you were here she said
When days had no beginning
While days had no end
When shadows grew no longer I knew no other friend but you were wild
You were wild
Frost upon these cigarettes
Lipstick on the windowpane
And I’ve lost all sense of the world outside but I can’t forget so I call your name and I’m
Looking for a life for me and I’m
Looking for a life for you
And I’m talking to myself again
And it’s so damn cold it’s just not true and I’m walking
Through the rain
Trynna hold on, waiting for the train and I’m only looking for what you want
But it’s lonely here and I think you knew and I’m
And I’m waiting
And I wait in vain
Nine while nine and I’m waiting
For the train

mr. Tidal... leave this place,go outside. you young geek.
Sorry, no. I like this.
And with these two we come to the end of FALAA- time to do something more challenging... After practise with two albums, it's time for songs of which the lyrics are unknown...
Amphetamine Logic
"Watch them do
Calling over
Watch them do
The standing still
Nothing but the knife to live for
One life, all I need
Give me one good reason
Give me more…sss…
Women
And the women come and go
Talk
Talking about me like they know
Men
Bought and sold
And the world keeps turning
People cold
And people burning
Nothing but the knife to live for
One life, all I need
Give me one good reason
Give me more…sss…
Who
Red
Nothing but the knife to live for
One life, all I need
Give me one good reason
Give me more…sss…

One life, all I need

I find this FALAA's most goth song.
-"Watch them do
Calling over"
It's said this should be "the falling over" but there's most obviously a "c"
sound in the beginning, although the word is a bit hard to decipher. In fact
I don't know what it really is, but it's not "the falling over". This seems
the closest to me. I thought it was "Call their neighbour" at first!
-"Who
Red"
A weird line, but it's not hard to hear. Wonder who this "Red" he's
referring to is...
-"Hip hop
Steel in hand"
No! I'm not kidding! I also thought it couldn't be true at first... but I heard
it...it is most certainly hip hop!! Best heard when you listen to
the ..ip ho.. part, where you can hear says a "h", not "up".
-And lastly some corrections to the chorus, in the last part of the song
Andrew sometimes says "Amphetamine Logic" and sometimes doesn't.
Some Kind of Stranger
"And yes I believe in what we had
But words got in the way
And only yesterday
As I was leaving
Lord knows I tried to say
But I’ve heard a million conversations going where they’ve been before
See no way that careful lingers undecided at the door
And all I know for sure
All I know for real
Is knowing doesn’t mean so much
When placed against the feeling
The heat inside when bodies meet
When fingers touch
All of my words are second-hand and useless in the face of this
Rationale, rhyme and reason pale beside a single kiss
And I’ve heard so many things I fail to understand it all
I’d settle any time for unknown footsteps in the hall outside
And all I know for sure
All I know for real
Is knowing doesn’t mean so much
When placed against the feeling
The heat inside when bodies meet
When fingers touch
Because the world is cruel
And promises are broken
Don’t try to tell me anything, don’t try to tell me you’ll be true to me, know the real truth is never spoken
I know the world is cold but if you hold on tight to what you find you might not mind too much though even this must pass away
But memories will last for years
But names are just for souvenirs
Some kind of angel let me look into your eyes
Don’t give me whys and wherefores
Reason for surprise
I don’t care for words that don’t belong
And I don’t care what you’re called, tell me later if at all
I can wait a long long time before I hear another love song
Come here I think you’re beautiful
My door is open wide
Some kind of angel come inside
Come here I think you’re beautiful
I think you’re beautiful, beautiful
Some kind of angel come inside
Come here I think you’re beautiful
I think you’re beautiful
Some kind of angel come inside
Come here I think you’re beautiful
My door is open wide
Some kind of stranger come inside
Come here I think you’re beautiful
I think you’re beautiful, beautiful
Some kind of stranger come inside
Come here I think you’re beautiful
I think you’re beautiful
Some kind of stranger come inside
Come here I think you’re beautiful
My door is open wide
Some kind of stranger come inside
Come here I think you’re beautiful
I think you’re beautiful, beautiful
Some kind of stranger come inside
Come here I think you’re beautiful
I think you’re beautiful
Some kind of stranger come inside"
-"...in what we had". Not entirely sure whether it's "had" or "have".
-"I’d settle any time...". "settle" could be "set for" as well, it's hard to hear.
-"true to me, know the...". Not a trace of "...me, you know".
It's just a long "meeeee".
-"But memories will last for years" very very hard to tell whether it's "but"
or "the". I think it's rather impossible. And then there's "will/may"
which could just as well have been any word, it's so inaudible.
-"But names..." same here.
-"Reason for surprise". Lyrics sites say "or". Right...
And that was First and Last and Always! Next are some surprises!
And with these two we come to the end of FALAA- time to do something more challenging... After practise with two albums, it's time for songs of which the lyrics are unknown...

Some kind of stranger come inside
Come here I think you’re beautiful
My door is open wide
Some kind of stranger come inside
Come here I think you’re beautiful
I think you’re beautiful, beautiful
Some kind of stranger come inside
Come here I think you’re beautiful
I think you’re beautiful
Some kind of stranger come inside"
-"...in what we had". Not entirely sure whether it's "had" or "have".
-"I’d settle any time...". "settle" could be "set for" as well, it's hard to hear.
-"true to me, know the...". Not a trace of "...me, you know".
It's just a long "meeeee".
-"But memories will last for years" very very hard to tell whether it's "but"
or "the". I think it's rather impossible. And then there's "will/may"
which could just as well have been any word, it's so inaudible.
-"But names..." same here.
-"Reason for surprise". Lyrics sites say "or". Right...
And that was First and Last and Always! Next are some surprises!
It's good to be back
And as promised... two new ones! Two unreleased songs!
Wide Receiver
"And you say: where is my believer
Waiting for the sign, those feet off the ground
Where the stands in the air, the skies bore a wire, all tattered and torn, that the dream never came and you say
Never mattered, morning found your dream is over in the out of time and
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the line
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the border
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the line
Over the edge and
Too far forward
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the line
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the border
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the line
Over the edge and
Too far forward
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the line
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the border
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the line
Out of sight and out of mind
Too far forward
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the line
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the border
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the line
Where’s your wide believer
Over the edge and too far forward
Where’s your wide deceiver
Over the line
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the border
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the line
Out of sight and out of the limb
Too far forward
Where’s your wide receiver
Over the line
Where’s your wide"
The first part is the only of any true importance since the rest is just repeating. Because these songs are unreleased, they haven't been perfected so it's quite hard to hear what Andy is saying.
-"... the sign, those feet..." this is what the lyrics sites say, I found it hard
to interprete as such but atleast it sounds better than "the siren street"
-"the stands in the air" another hard one, the "stands" sounds more like
"staunds" which is nonsense but that's what it sounds like.
-"the skies bore a wire, all tattered and torn" Completely unlike the
lyricssites but that's what it is! it's not "and the skies go wild" as they
say. It's like, the skies "borawiral" tattered and torn. The "borawiral" part
is free to interpretation but this seems best to me.
-"that the dream never came" a very important and hard to hear piece;
says it so mumblingly that is could be anything, but I seem to hear
"dream", it's like, all tattered and torn, "thatumdreem" never came.
-"Never mattered, morning found your dream". Never mattered is sure,
then there's a piece which could be a lot but I think it's just a long
"mmmmmmorning" and then "found/sound, and then
you/your dream/game. I think "found your dream" sounds best.
-"your dream is over in the out of time" much easier to hear. As said
before, could also be "game is over" but dream is a better context, with
all that "morning" and the dream that "never came".
-And that was the important part, a few details of the rest:
"Out of sight and out of mind"
"Where’s your wide believer
Over the edge and too far forward
Where’s your wide deceiver
Over the line"
"Out of sight and out of the limb"
Good Things
"The cracks appear along the wall, wall, wall, wall, wall
See the people stoop and
The once stood tall, tall, tall, tall, tall
See the buildings crumble see the empires
Fall
But I see no more and
I don’t recall
‘Cause I see
Nothing but the good things
‘Cause I see
Nothing but the good things
‘Cause I see
Nothing but the good things
Nothing but the good good good good good good nothing but the good things
Well nothing ventured nothing lost
Count the changes, count the cost
Reformation so uncertain
Keep your station
Draw the curtain
‘Cause under the snipers work the ridges
Building bombs and blowing bridges
Out there on a darkened road
The lines are dead and the cars explode
But in here
Nothing but the good things
In here
Nothing but the good things
In here
Nothing but the good things
Nothing but the good good good good good good nothing but the good things
I see a green sea a pleasant land land land land land
Nothing meal
Underhand
On the fence
Or in the sand
Well I take no chances
And I take no stand
Against the wall
Against the wire
Against the fall
Against the fire
Against the sale
Against the hire
They say the profits high but
I know the cost is higher
Still I see
Nothing but the good things
Still I see
Nothing but the good things
Still I see hear speak do talk see nothing but the good things
Nothing but the good good good good good good nothing but the good things
Nothing but the good things
Nothing but the good, good, good, good things!"
Unfortunately my version of "Good Things" stops in the midde of the last
"things" so I don't know what's after that (I heard it's "No!").
-"people stoop and
The once stood tall"
The "once stood tall" is not entirely sure but it makes a lot of sense.
-"I see a green sea a pleasant land" could be "see a dream, see a..."
As Eldritch is known so speak "dream" in a weird fashion (Dream wars
and a ticket to seem anyone?). He says something like "greem"...
-"Nothing meal
Underhand"
Very weird, it's not "legal underhand", it could even be "on the hand"
which is a bit silly. I still wonder what the "meal" word is, it starts with
an "m" but I just know no other words that has these letters...
-"They say the profits high but
I know the cost is higher"
The profits "high but", I think, but it could be something else like "harden"
and the sentence "they say the profits high" is strange as well.
And that was it! Two other unreleased songs next time.

Ah, got you!
Take a chance on me that’s all I’m asking
Throw doubt and caution to the wind
And we can trip the light fantastic
Come with me now spread your wings
Where spirits fly that is where I long to be
Where you and I can see beyond our wildest dreams
Close your eyes and we could almost be
Where spirits fly, beyond belief
Back in the land of the living where we’re tied and bound
And the weight of the world keeps bringing me down
Where spirits fly and you and I are free
To walk the line between flesh and fantasy
Close your eyes and we could almost be
Where spirits fly, beyond belief
Take a chance on me that’s all I’m asking
Dance where angels fear to tread
Sometimes I wish I could shed my skin
And leave this wounded land for dead
Where spirits fly that is where I long to be
Where you and I can see beyond our wildest dreams
Close your eyes and we could almost be
Where spirits fly, beyond belief
Just listen to Anne-Marie's voice, Gary and Steely's sparkly guitars, Etch oozing cool, and Pandora's "bashing-bits-of-wood-together" drum sounds. No interpretation needed.

huh? I don't know that song... I'm referring to the Where Spirits Fly song that's mentioned here http://myheartland.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=119843
as "Spirits(1984 soundcheck)" but it shows up in my WMP as "Where Spirits Fly". I heard that Ghost Dance made it into a song yeah, that must be what you just cited.

It's the same song. TSOM did it instrumentally, and Ghost Dance made it into the stonking track that it is. I mean, can you imagine Eldritch singing those lyrics?Tidal wrote: huh? Gary's a hell of a songwriter, but not quite what Eldritch would have done.
That said, Poison Door's still a classic. Either TSOM or GD's.
I don't usually do the songs out of order, but for you I'll make a small exceptionBartoszek wrote:how about Jihad ?

Aahhh That was great, salvaging lyrics from an unsalvagable song. I'm not entirely sure about the number of "Jihad"'s in the final part and I'm not gonna put spaces between the words to indicate whether there is a piece of silence between them, but this is the lyrics of Jihad!
