"We are Motörhead. We play rock and roll."
Another Motörshow, another major kick in the butt.
Went to the gig with my bro Nicolas (you may remember him from 14.04.06) and a friend of his, and listened to FotN's boot Memoriam in the car on our way to Nancy.
Very nice venue, both outside and inside. We had good, comfy chairs. Lots of grey hair in the audience, some people even brought their kids. Looks like a Motörgig is a family event !
We had a first blast when we saw that the support act were Berlin heavy sensation Skew Siskin ! It was already them last time we saw Motörhead in Freiburg in late 2003. Singer Nina C. Alice still has the same incredible iron lungs, and the new album sounds pretty good. Highly recommended, sadly overlooked if you ask me. They got a good response from the crowd and they deserved it.
Then came fcuking Lemmy and co. !
What's left to say ? It was very, very loud, as always. God bless earplugs. The band rocked, as always. We got all the classics (except Bomber), as always. Insane and over the top light show, as always.
Mikkey D's drum solo on Sacrifice seemed even longer than before.
We were treated to Metropolis and the Chase is better than the catch (not played in Freiburg).
Stonking new version of Whorehouse blues, with Mikkey D on guitar and percussions and new guitar solo by Phil Campbell.
Lemmy still has the same sense of humour and he gives no sign of slowing down.
Funniest moment was when both he and Phil got flame-shaped guitars (black for Phil, red bass for Lem) and he said : "Welcome to ZZ Head !"
They also played a Thin Lizzy cover I couldn't recognize.
In conclusion : a true top nite out. The band fcuking delivers !
We listened to Pink Floyd's Echoes on our way back to Strasbourg. By then we really needed something cool.
God Dave Gilmour's solo on Comfortably numb is beautiful ! (but still too short)

Lemmy didn't do any such joke, however tempting it might have been. But it would have been way to easy.

I went to see the 'head a couple of years back in Manchester. I think Skew Sisken supported then , but got the usual abuse women and support bands come to expect.
But the highlight for me was the Kings of NYHC Anthrax!! " ..he's calling corrupting..Among the Living..." Not heard that live since the Among the Living tour in 1987 ( me thinks)
Then Mr Lemmy took the stage, and as already pointed out, to the loudest, over the top light extravaganza that the national power grid could bare.
Now, two years on. Do they still play R.A.M.O.N.E.S and give the tribute to the band of the same spelling? or maybe it was just a nod to me being there that night
Hi oooooooh.

Off to see them, amongst others, at Lowlands Festival in August. It's been a few years since I last had the pleasure (Sheffield Octagon 2003ish), and suffice to say I cannot bloody well wait.
BTW Ramone, is that you in your avatar? No wonder Phil Neville always hits row Z when he shoots.

I'd have thought / hoped they'd have found room for Sucker, but hey, setlist complaints must be pretty rare with the 'Head, whatever they play blows your nads off.

Even my daughter recognizes "Mmmohead" now. Not bad for a two year-old - keep on rockin', Jessica!

Hi oooooooh.
They played it last time I saw them as well, Lem said
"We're we're just gonna drop this, now we've got to do it as tribute to Jonny"
If Marky pops off, it's going to make a return I guess
