There is a faint doubt that a featherlike, tiny, brittle person like _Emma_ will match a nearly 100Kg battlecollossus like me, though..

A woman that is to survive me has to be a bit robust, I fear..
She ought to be used to handling cattle, maybe have driven the occasional bulldozer to be familiar with methods of making me step asside when I once again do not realize I´m standing in the way, and stuff like that. See what I mean?

Well. I've melk (or milked? where's Richey James when you need him) goats, ridden horses, and dug deep in the soil.
The real problem is, how could anybody bear more than 10 minutes with a mental wreckage. It's a question that I ask myself, no need to reply.

Talking about mental wreckages means adressing 70% of the 30-years+ and probably a good share of the younger members of this forum who have been through relationships, I´d say.

Yeah, we've all experienced "mental wreckage" to some degree. For some folk it's a slight fender-bender. For others a car crash. For others still, a great screaming pile up with bits of bodies strewn across the ..... well, you get the picture.

All part of the rich tapestry of life, I suppose.

Thanks for that! I dunno about the rest of the female Heartlanders, but I truly appreciate being ignorantly stereotyped and patronized.

Obviously, some men have no emotions whatsoever (kind of like rocks or lumps of poo), so life's probably relatively easy for them, innit? No sense, no feelings, an' all...

Let me revive this thread for an important reason which is strictly connected with its topic.
I am alone now, and I have a dilemma: should I go to the Geiselwind and Zottegem gigs by car, or by train/bus? The cost of the journey is about the same, and here's the pros and cons:

1. Travel by car:
PROs:
- don't need a tent or hotel, can sleep comfortably on the backseats folded
- a safe, lockable place to keep my things in while I'll be at the gigs
- no need to carry the luggage
CONs:
- no drinking (and I really need it at the current state of my heart and mind)
- long way (750 km + 650 + 1250 back home) - will I manage the driving on my own?
- what if I get a flat tire in the middle of nowhere?
- what if there's traffic jams or if I get lost between Geiselwind and Zottegem?

2. Travel by bus and trains:
PROs:
- no need to think, be alert, be focused and tense (just watching the views from the window)
- can drink and take life easy
- more opportunities of nice adventures (encounters, talks etc.)
CONs:
- luggage to carry
- where will I lock my things at the time of the gigs? (I trust Sisters fans, but I don't trust the huge stranger crowd who will come to Battle of Metal)
- where will I sleep? (all the hotels in Geiselwind seem fully booked, and I really wouldn't mind camping, but is it reasonble to carry the big 3-persons tent for just one me, to spend just a few hours in it?)
- might have to do more walking (bearable)

This means, I feel somehow helpless and I need advice. What do you people think I should do? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

From my experience, driving to festivals is a nightmare:

Queues to get into car parking area
No drinking
Queues to get out of car parking area
No drinking
Cost of car parking
No drinking
Car park is generally a very muddy field (I got stuck in the mud the last time I tried it! )
No drinking
And of course, no drinking.

Yeah, these are actually exactly my thoughts.
In fact, apart from all the pros and cons that I listed, the only thing that worries me is where I could leave my luggage safely, and where could I sleep. Can anybody suggest me a hotel that I don't now about?

Edit: I know that what I'm doing here is whining, but hey, I've never travelled alone so far, and what has recently happened to me is a really cruel thing to happen. I have every right to whine.
