I don't know if this is the best place to put this - but there is a geniune sisters connection...
Anyway, I just wanted to say, if you get the chance & you've even half a mind to do so, make sure you catch the Only Ones while they're touring this week! I went to the gig in Manchester on Friday and they were absolutely spell binding! Lovers of today, No Peace for the Wicked, Programme, No Solution, Miles from Nowhere, The beast, & obviously Another Girl... Awesome...
I know these comebacks can be fairly hit & miss, and considering the bands long chemical history, I would say a lot of people wouldn't expect much - but they were utterly mesmerising...
Even just to see Peter Perret back on stage after all this time...
As an added bonus I got to meet them all before & went into the sound check - total & utter gents! Watching John Perry practising his slide for Me & My Shadow - a nice little insight into Dentonation Buvl.
Does anyone know how he came to play on Vision Thing or what the connection is there?
The Only Ones
I went and saw and expected not a lot .....BUT...................
I HAVE TO AGREE WHOLEHEARTEDLY! BANGLES IS BANG ON!
My favourite band for 25 years, just missed seeing them live first time round, but they were absolutely brilliant on Friday, one reunion that was fireworks not a damp squib!
Infact so good that I'm off to London on Sat. Fingers crossed it will be as good!
catch em while you can.
and top marks for banging out a load of original posters and badges at 15 and 5 respectively.
They looked like they were 30 years old. white 70's size Button badges with the rust stains coming through!
They'd obviously been stuck in a cupboard in the Perret family home for decades and they supplied a good laugh at the beginning of the evening but......... I may even stupidly purchase on Sat.
(Although £15 for a wafer thin piece of badly printed black and white A1 paper may be a step to far.!
)
Splendid night out .......a true classic!

When it gets to that stage, simply be rude and say 'I'm off, see you later'. Never works for me, doesn't stop me trying.undertow wrote:Cheers!
