BOOT CD COVER DESIGN

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Hi guys

I'm looking for someone to advise me on the best software to use for cd cover design, I've downloaded a couple of bootleg recordings from here and want to design and add my own text to the covers, for my personal enjoyment I hasten to add!.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks all and keep up the good work.

Regards and take care Droogie

OK, they're just the ones I did, there are many other talented designers of sleeves etc. on here. I used the (now killed by Adobe) program FreeHand, which I continue to use as it's far more 'elegant' than Illustraitor. You can get a 30 day trial from the Adobe downloads page, if you want a template PM me.

Did anyone else expect the rest of the sentence to have "thank you' or "I would like to offer some as well"?

Poor Pets, expecting a random n00b to display the same manners we've come to love and expect (and mightily *respect*) from most of our fellow Heartlanders... That's just setting yourself up for disappointment, I'm afraid, Pets dear. :|

No, you're probably another (thwarted?) idealist, like me. Only I realized a long time ago that no one (or at least, very few people) gives a sh1t, and that expecting others to treat me with the same respect and courtesy with which I'd treat them if/when given the chance is, more often than not, a waste of time and effort. Unfortunately, my poor mum never learned this, and thus lived a life of heartbreak and regret.

Cynic? You bet. :(

Although , as a non pro designer I also use a free imaging program calleed "IrfanView" which is pretty basic but nice and simple and can do all the bits word cannot.

As another non-pro designer I use Nero Cover Designer - piece of p1ss to use and reasonably effective.

Once you've done your thing droogie, stick an example up on here. I'll promise to keep Blasty on his leash

A load of mine are in the Sharing section (unless they got blitzed by the crash, in which case none of them are there).

Guys, Thanks for your help, to the people who think I don't appreciate and don't acknowledge appreciation, look at my first post again and you'll clearly see that I did say thank you, as for offering any material myself there is absolutely nothing in my collection that I could offer that hasn't appeared on here before. Once again I thank the good people who did offer help and I truly do think you're all stars :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Fair enough. Your first post, though, looks as if you are thanking someone to offer advice on cover making, not for downloads offered here. So, if I was mistaken, I offer my apologies.

At least you did not use the word malarkey.

Anyway, welcome to Heartland. Make yourself at home. We are like family here. You will figure out (if you have not already) who the crazy uncle is.
