RIP Robert Buras.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

A friend of ours just informed us about this loss...

Robert Buras, guitarist of Madrugada, died yesterday.

Maybe not that many people out here know him or his music, but believe me when I say this is tragic and that he will be greatly missed.

from the official Madrugada website http://www.emi.no/madrugada/news.asp:
13.07.07
Our dear friend, Robert Burås, died on July 12 2007. He was 31 years old.
Robert dedicated his life to music. He was a vital part of Madrugada as a guitar player and songwriter for 12 years. This last year was spent working with his side project My Midnight Creeps, as well as recording a new album for Madrugada. Robert died at a time when he was at his most creative. His recorded work as well as live appearances in Norway and abroad comprise an everlasting contribution to the legacy of Norwegian rock.

All who knew Robert and who worked with him will remember him as a genuinely warm and generous person who lived for music. We are many who love him. Today is a terrible day for all of us. Robert will always be a part of us, and he will always be deeply missed. Our thoughts now go to his closest family.

We ask that Robert’s family and friends will be given time to grieve

 :(

Thanks for all the good music Robert :notworthy: Perhaps not the right moment to ask, but any clue/speculations on what'll happen to Madrugada now yet?

Yeah, me too. In the Marquee somewhere in the afternoon.
I believe it was in 2001, the same year The Sisters played there and also yours truly. All 3 on a different day though.
It was my first Madrugada gig and it made quite an impression on me.
Katrien was already a big fan then, but then & there my penny dropped too.
