Experimental Cello Music

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I've just uploaded a couple of videos for a musician who I maintain a website for - looped electronic cello. More visual effects than Wake!

Go take a look if you're that way inclined:

Couldn't get the London one to play.
Where was the Brighton one filmed?
That cello's pretty cool though.
What is it?
A "Bat-Cello"?
Cheers.

Hmm - they both work OK for me. Maybe YouTube was having a bad day when you tried?

It's an electric cello, I believe, fed through loads of effects and loop generators. "Bat-Cello" sounds far better though!

I think the Brighton venue may have been the Red Roaster - all I know for sure is that it was part of the Brighton Live festival.

Other way around here!

I really like The Old Vortex, London do! :notworthy:

The first one is a bit soft-ish to my liking...

Saw Bela Emerson at the Super Sonic Festival in Birmingham the other week. Very impressive she was too. She's playing Bristol later in the year (Sept) and i'm going to go again.
If you like her check out Julia Kent

I must admit, like Izzy I prefer the London one, but I do like them both.

Despite maintaining her site I'm ashamed to say I've only seen her play live once (in Brighton as part of the group Drei, which was very good).

Izzy - I'm sure she'd be interested in a collaboration!
