School's Out - Heartland August 2007 Weekender

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I'll be in this place (although it has another name now) from about 9:30 tomorrow night, if you're in the area and fancy a pint. :D
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I heard that there's a pub in London with a giant tree that's hundreds of years old, growing right in the middle of it (i.e., the pub was built around the tree). I need to see this.

I'll be in Jolly Olde and vicinity from 1 Aug. to 15 Aug. - perhaps longer, if I decide that I like it better over there... ;)

I'll be coming back from Leeds on the 6th, and likely in no fit state to do anything but post on here about what a fantastic weekend it was, then fall straight into bed. Leastways that's the intention. Back in work on the 8th, so how does the 7th sound? I can haul my mouldy carcass around a few off-the-beaten-track (and maybe even one or two on-the-beaten-track) places with youse.

Funnily enough.........here I am again.

Blah blah blah stuff blah blah blah real life....you know the score by now. I'm going to still be a bit distracted in the real world for another week or two but I'm very much up for something to do with this.

I'm working on Friday and need to be back home on Sunday early afternoon but leaves me chance coming in to Leeds on the train (as long as the railways isn't flooded) on Saturday morning and heading back on Sunday morning.

For my shame, I really know very little of the Leeds so would be looking to possibly meet up at the station with any other HL'ers travelling in around that time and also I've not a clue what the plan is for where to stay on Saturday night / Sunday morning.

If anybody can furnish me with such (non-)trivial info I'll be most greatful.

Carpy (you know, that occasionally absent one)

;D

Plan for Saturday night / Sunday morning?

No idea Carpy. Anyone? Anyone?
